systemic absorption of topical spironolactone

Any studies on the issue? I know most claim no systemic effect, but is that simply due to the weakness of spironolactone? (since RU, flutamide, and similar anti-androgens have clearly systemic effects).

It definitely has some. When I first started it I was loading it up, then one night I had 3 beers with some buddies and felt like I was wasted and near started spinning and had to go pass out. I woke up with a pretty bad hang over too. Now I apply much less, but sometimes can "feel it" say 30 mins to 2 hours after absorption in ways like metallic taste on the tongue and more frequent urination, but nothing else other than that.

It gets absorbed locally and there were some serious studies about absorption of topical spironolactone.
But,
I believe if someone is super sensitive and applies a lot of spironolactone then he can develop side effects.
Just decrease amount you are using and see how it goes.
