Hello everyone,

Has anyone switched from avodart to propecia and found it was not as effective as propecia? Have there been any reported instances where avodart has caused increased hairloss after switching from propecia. I've switched to avodart in the past 8 months and have found my hair is getting worse. I don't know if this is a shed that will grow back and I don't know if i should stick with it for 6 months more and wait the shed out.

Thanks

Timi,
Is finasteride better because of lower side effects. What is your experience with dutasteride? HHow long did you use it? Did you have sheds that never regrew?

thanks

I'm not using any minoxidil at the moment. I'm thinking of using rogaine foam because it dries faster but have read that the liquid solution is better as it may possibly grow more hair.

Leafs Nation you should know Timi has had a very bad experience of dutasteride and is generally the loudest voice on here when people ask about the product.

Personally I think thats because most people with sucess dont come back on here very often.

I've had excellent results on dutasteride but tbh mine came a lot quicker than yours seems to be coming.

Saying that though it can take a year or more for people to see the results so i'd stick with it if I was you. I dont see the point in taking something for 8 months and then giving up. I'd use it for a year and a half if I was you and see how you are at the end of that time.

Are you taking pics to document your hairloss? I did this and was shocked to see how much new hair i'd grown after a year. Looking in the mirror I hadn't really noticed the difference, but comparing the pictures it was easy to see i'd made great progress!

Really hard to understand your messages, Timi!
I take dutasteride 1x a day since beginning june, 2009.
So I will be completing 6 months soon.
All I can say is that it didn't stop my hairloss, but WHO knows if it would be worse without any medication or with propecia right?
Not even God knows...
