Its difficult to say from your pictures. It looks like you may have some temple recession. However, you say nobody in your family is bald. Androgenic alopecia (AA) is a genetic condition. With nobody in your family bald, it is unlikely that you would be prone to AA, especially at such a young age.

I don't think you should start the big 3, only finasteride and nizoral shampoo 1% or 2% concentration twice weekly. The additional benefits of adding minoxidil the third ingredient of the "big 3" will be only small if not useless most likely. You definitely have signs of recession. Family history is an indicator but not a reliable one

I agree. At this point finasteride should be enough. As far as family history goes, don't put too much weight in that. My dad's father and all his brothers have a full head of hair. My dad is a NW7.

Definite recession.

Enjoy the onslaught of humiliation from society. Good luck in life.

I agree with you guys that the inheritance of male pattern baldness can be very unpredictable. It often really is "pot luck" who gets the good genes or the bad genes (Prince Harry and William, for instance). However, the OP of this thread said that nobody at all is bald in his family. Of course, it isn't clear what degree of hair loss he considers to constitute "bald" in this instance. If it is the case that all the known males in his family background had thick NW1s their entire life, then I think it is safe to say that his chances of developing male pattern baldness (especially prematurely) are very small. It looks from his photos like he may have some temple recession, but that could just be the development of a mature hairline. Definitely he should keep an eye on it though, and definitely see a dermatologist to get a professional opinion. If the crown starts thinning in addition to the hairline "maturing", that would most certainly be classic male pattern baldness rather than a mature hairline. And if that's the case (referring especially to those in their teens or early 20s), then yes, it's life completely and utterly over I'm afraid.

you have issues

Yeah, bald men are the one's with issues. Forget the mockery, social rejection, humiliation, bullying, psychological torment, ridicule, insults, women's disgust and everything else that society throws at bald men.... it's US who have issues, RIGHT?

You obviously have some temporal recession, but you would need to see a dermatologist to determine whether or not it will continue to progress. If you are happy with your hair as it is then you don't need to use any treatments, just keep an eye on your hairline and density. If you are not happy with your hair then start the big three imo.
