I don't even know what to say. I have a lot of dandruff. My hair is thinning. And I am just 17 years old. My father is bald. My grandfather was NW3 till age 60. Males on my mother's side are also bald. So there is probably a lot of chances for me to go bald before my 30's.
Should I use medications?

Horrible picture quality. We need brightly lit pictures of the hairline, temples, and crown, preferably wet and dry. We also need pictures from when you were younger to establish a baseline.

Couldn't find good pics of my exact hairline when I was young. But I have some pics. Would do you think?

Considering your family history it's beter to start treatment.

excessive dandruff and/or itchy scalp could be a skin issue that can also cause hair loss. recommend buying some Nizoral shampoo asap, or any other similar shampoo. Use only 1-2 times a week. Keep you towels clean as wet dirty towels can carry fungus and bacteria that gets back into your scalp every time you dry off, so make sure to keep your hair towel VERY clean and dry.

What treatments? Finasteride?
How old were you in those other pics? And are you able to achieve the same style. Because you can't compare a picture with your hair styled and one where you're pulling back your hairline.

That’s ok, you’ve given us more than enough now. I don’t see any hair loss to be concerned about. Your hair thins out and recedes a bit as you age. This is all that’s going on here.

That being said, dandruff, particularly if it’s caused by sebhorreic dermatitis, can cause temporary thinning depending on how much you pick at it, how roughly you do so, and how severe the build up is. The condition itself doesn’t cause hair loss on its own, but scratching the affected area can damage your follicles. Additionally, if you don’t exfoliate the build up regularly it can clog up your hair follicles.

The good news is that hair lost as a secondary effect of the condition isn’t permanent and should return once the condition is dealt with. Get that under control and most, if not all, hair affected by it will return.
