my story short and sweet. went on accutane for mild/persistent acne...six month treatment. hair became curly, wispy, all and all shitty around month 4. shed thereafter for roughly 8 to 9 months. hair ended up looking like my before picture. started minoxidil. after picture is from just under 3 months. i also use nizoral and have my first shipment of finpecia on the way. hows it look?

you seem to be an excellent responder to minoxidil, you dont look like you need finasteride at the stage.

Right now it looks great. The finpecia should totally keep you improve, not that it looks like you need any.

Wow! But i have to say your hair is dirty and greasy in the before pic and the after pic your hair is clearly just shampooed and blowdried. Still a good improvement in a short period of time i suspect.

My opinon would be to get on the finpecia to curb male pattern baldness, my 2cents. gdwright, you have dramatic results very happy for you. :punk:

oh, btw how long have you been experiencing male pattern baldness? Did it occur when you went on accutane?

alright to answer your questions...i use standard rogaine foam. um, i think i was experiencing a bit of male pattern baldness before i went on accutane but i swear it, accutane did something. sped up the process, i dunno. but around month four of my accutane treatment my hair became very wavy and i started shedding horribly. that lasted a good 8 or so months. thats gotta be an intense spell of Telogen Effluvium or something else. accutanes a very weird drug. hairs going back to straight slowly but surely. lets see, oh, i started finpecia roughly 3 weeks ago. we'll see what comes of that. the stuffs so cheap ya might as well do your hair some good. alright, any more questions....please feel free to post. thanks for the feedback gentlemen.

also quick question for anyone whos used finasteride...my hair seems a little limp these days, it has since the accutane treatment. do you think finasteride will remedy that limp, lifeless feel? thanks

Gdwright07,
Nice results. Did you find the 5% foam difficult to apply because your hair is longer? What technique did you use? My hair is roughly the same length and I would like to start using the foam but everyone here always talks about having very short hair for best results. Can you tell me more about your shed and how long it took to see results? Thanks.

hey, so what i do is just part my hair with my fingers/hands. part close to each temple region...turn bottle upside down and squirt on the exposed scalp from front to back. let it disolve as i make my next part between temples and middle...do the same thing. then finally, a part right down the middle. so 5 parts in all. as far as my shed...it was pretty drastic for a month and a half maybe. i had shed so much previously that i didnt really give a f***. at least this was a good shed. hope that answers your questions.
