This f***ing annoying co-worker who has SUPER THICK NW0 hair at the age of 39 is constantly bitching about how he hates the fact that his hair is turning gray. He claims that he doesn't believe in "coloring" his hair and rather "shave it off completely". WHAT!!!! Listen to this retard! DOES HE EVEN KNOW WHAT WE GO THROUGH! This SOB makes the same remarks to everyone he meets. "I am going to shave it soon cause the gray makes me look old". The nerve of some people!

Well it can be a problem for him... a friend of my dads went grey pretty young (before 40 I guess) and was very bothered by it according to my dad... he kept dyeing his hair to conceal the greying. All I'm saying is everyone reacts differently to these things, some folks say that we shouldn't mind about going bald and yet we do.

I'm 23 years old and I would trade my male pattern baldness for a full thick head of gray hair any day of the week! This prick doesn't know how good he's got it.

*sigh*

Thus demonstrating, once again, that the severity of our problems are relative.

What do you think a kid with leukemia thinks about us crying and moaning about our hair?

The more I read this forum, the more I realise FlimFlam is the only member with even an ounce of sense.

All you people insulting this guy for disliking the fact his hair is greying, think about how someone dying of Cancer regards people like Taug who wish death upon themselves just because they're suffering from a bit of male pattern baldness.

*hehe* yeah, excellent point. :bravo: For every problem you have and loathe and wish death upon yourself for, there are thousands of people probably half your age with a terminal illness or disease who will not even make it to our age.

However, this is not a "leukaemia forum", or a "bowel cancer forum" or even a "seriously life threatening deformity forum". It is in fact a hair loss discussion forum. The point of this thread started off well, but like this one & so many more, someone has to offer the whole "I'm gonna kill myself" bullsh*t and then suddenly we HAVE to leap to the defense of the unfortunate people who actually have a life threatening problem or disability.

Anyone who likes to shoot off their mouth and say they're gonna kill themselves over something like hair loss should be bloody ashamed. They are the ones who should accept that "hey, they might have less hair than others" ....... "but f*ck, at least I have perfect vision, hearing, mobility, two arms, two legs etc. etc."

For the others, we can accept that there are many many people less fortunate than ourselves as I and many others have great compassion for them. It breaks my heart to see someone with a real disability or terminal illness. But we don't base our decisions or complaints on what they may be thinking of our problems. Comparing our day-to-day problems with those of the terminally ill is taking things out of context. Comparing my problems with the terminally ill and those less fortunate than myself is not gonna make me forget about or care less about my hair. ...or my career ...or my health ...or any of my personal problems or goals

Everyone takes what they have for granted wether its physical health, living in a developed country or having a full head of hair.

I went to hospital today and saw a 24 year old with cardiac problems, he got so angry that he wasn't allowed to move they strapped him to his bed as they injected him with calming drugs and his "normal" medication.

He has great hair though!

I'd honestly like to see how some you guys who go "I'm going to kill myself because of male pattern baldness" will react to REAL problems. It's good to put things into perspective once in a while I guess, for my included.

I guess it's all relative. Because we're losing our hair we think that some guy complaining about grey hair is pathetic. But yeah, someone with a life threatening illness might think the same thing about us.

Personally though, I don't think we should compare ourselves to the worst case scenario. Obviously having cancer would be terrible. I mean, I don't even want to try to begin imagining what that would be like. The reality is however, that I don't have cancer and I do have male pattern baldness and that's what I have to deal with. The fact that cancer would be worse doesn't change what I'm going through right now.

I get what people are saying: Things could be a lot worse and we actually have it pretty good. But I don't think it's worth dealing in hypotheticals. I deal with the problems I have and right now that's male pattern baldness. I'm not going to ignore it or pretend it doesn't matter just because something worse could happen to me.

Ok, so let's pretend for a moment that cancer/aids etc didn't exist.

To insult this guy for being upset he is going grey, when so many people on here get themselves worked up because they're going bald, well, it's not very fair.

Maybe to him going grey is far worse than balding? I mean, let's face it, a lot of people begin to go bald in their early 20s, but greyness doesn't tend to happen til late 30s/40s. To him, greyness is probably much more of an indication of his aging than a bit of thinning is.

Whether it's going grey or going bald, it's both vanity and they both happen to the majority of us, sooner or later.
