@Retinoid wtf is your problem? just by googling finasteride stuffed nose you'll find that a stuffy nose is legit a side effect of finasteride. it affects you sinuses thus making your nose feel stuffed.

Stuffy nose > mouthbreathing > affecting your health & face

so i dont get it. do you seriously think im trolling in regards to this or what?

Oh dear. Hopefully your dick won't be next. :L

Ahh, I remember my "i'll never get on finasteride" days. Good times.
Why are you replying condescendingly? I'm getting on finasteride. Also, I don't have aggressive hairloss therefore, my indecisiveness is warranted to some degree.

''Some side effects of finasteride may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
Less Common
Runny nose
sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
sneezing
stuffy nose

but I hope you're right

I honestly think you’ll be fine and what you’re dealing with may just be a coincidence, you can always take a little break and see what happens considering it’s only been a week you’re on it

I never heard and un my leaflet stuffy nose is not listed like a side of effect.
It could be an allergy or something else.
Its pretty simple: after you quit the drug will be out of you system in 2-3 days. I would stop taking it and see what happens. If you get better probably is an allergy to the medication and if persist its something else not related to finasteride.

I see you are taking minoxidil ..it could be the culprit too.

been taking minoxidil for about a year now. doubt its the problem.

I've had a stuffy nose for about 8-9 days (i dont really count exactly). the weather has been fluctuationg here lately so I hope I'll recover.

I was prescribed some cortisone spray by my dr he told me to be on it for 3-4 weeks if I dont notice any improvement then it might be finasteride?

I got a cortison spray prescription, I was recommended to try it out for 3-4 weeks and if I don't see any improvement then its most likely due to finasteride.

What are the chances of even being allergic to finasteride? I cant believe my luck

@arnoldd

have you read this?

''Some side effects of finasteride may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. based on this, do you suppose its possible for this side effect to dissapear in a few weeks?

the reason why I don't think this is an allergic reaction is becaues I don't have hives, rashes, swollen face lips etc or anything along those lines.
And if this isnt' affecting me too hard even if I were to be allergic to it would it be harmful to take? I mean considering all I get is a stuffy nose

somewhat of an update: I seem to have more snot in my nose thus making it less of a stuffed nose when i wash it out. is it possibly a good sign considering i havent had snot in my nose for the past 5+days?

You can become hypersensitive to a drug at any time and its more likely after prolonged exposure.
In my experience minoxidil its more prone to give allergic reactions than finasteride. But could be one or the other. The cortisone will alliviate your simptmos but you are not treating the root of the cause. Even if you dont have hives or urticaria it doesnt mean nothing. If the drug inihbit dht why should it cause stuffy nose ? Its not seems a side effect..

Maybe I'm just sick then, just a coincidence since I took the pill? Or maybe it's a sign of mild allergy?

I don't understand what you meant by ''Even if you dont have hives or urticaria it doesnt mean nothing.''
Do you mean that finasteride can't be causing a stuffy nose or? It ays that its a less common side effect as I linked above...

What do you suggest I should do?

Both options are possible

I mean allergy reactions are not always hives, urticaria or anaphylaxis, sometimes they cause respiratory or gastrointestinal simptmos. So if you dont have any rash, hives ecc doesnt exclude that its not an allergic reaction.
What do you suggest I should do?
The only way to know if the drug is the culprit of your stuffy nose its to quit.
If you stop taking finasteride and after 4-5 days you get better you will know the drug is trigger your problem. If not its something else

thank you for the suggestions man. I spoke with my doctor today and he told me to use some nosespray and if I didn't improve within a few weeks I'd have to go on for a checkup and then go from there on
