It is oral spironolactone, and unfortunately does not compare the results to finasteride alone. Just spironolactone vs spironolactone and finasteride.

Still, nice to see that they are additive in vivo.

CSS, do you believe in topical spironolactone for hair loss? Any reason why you don't use it yourself?

I use it, I like it. I think it stopped my shedding. I stopped shedding right after I added it to my regimen.

Just stinks a lot when added on top of, or with minoxidil.

But I am assuming that a topical spironolactone + finasteride regimen is better than a finasteride regimen?

I want spironolactone, but not at $30 a month. These people think I got nothing else to spend my money on besides that one component of my hair loss regimen. I'd use spironolactone if it were $10 a month. Maybe even $15.

Then just use it once a day ?

You don't have to apply a lot. Say you only use a tiny bit on the temples. It will last forever!

I read the first study some time ago. There was another one comparing topical spironolactone cream (5%) and oral spironolactone (100mg/day) on hirsutism and guess what.. the cream performed significantly better.
