Hello all,

I am glad that I have found this forum. It looks like people on here are genuine and helpful to one another. I hope that I may get some help as well.

Over the years I have noticed my hair starting to thin considerably. I have also noticed gray hairs have been appearing on my sides and some on the top of my head. I know this has to involve the stress that I have in my life.

Ever since I started working for the computer industry 6 years ago, my hair has not been the same. I developed the fear of losing my hair and now I feel that I have OCD relating to checking every day whether or not I have lost even more hair than the previous day. It has controlled my life during this time, in which I have difficulty sleeping, concentrating at work, and not being happy with myself. My confidence has dropped big time because all I do is WORRY and worry about this hair loss.

In regards to family history, my father's side had thinning hair in their 40s-50s and on my mother's side, my uncle has thick hair while another uncle has thinned out hair.

I have attached a couple of pictures in order to see what I have become now. If any of you could provide me with what I should do or perhaps investigate, then that would be great. Also, what scale would I be on the Norwood chart?

Thanks and happy new year everyone.

i dont think you fit on the norwood scale since your hair loss seems to be just in the vertex area. the last pic really makes it apparent and i know that pictures dont tell all and it could be worse in person than in photographs.

so my advice is to hop onto propecia or rogaine and stick with it for a while (1yr+) if you want to maintain and possibly regrow some hair.

or you can do a faux hawk hair style and cover up the middle.

Diffuse thinning on the vertex. still has a NW1, and extremely doubtful that its stress related.

Thanks for the input guys.

I will update this page after I grow out my hair. Maybe I am just reading too much into this.
