I was always a gaming nerd tho.

All the old school sierra games (hero/kings/police quest) ... Wing commander series .... Tie Fighter/X Wing.... Doom .... Quake .... Old apogee games (duke nukem, commander keen)

Gaming *absolutely can* cause hair loss.

As OP said, gaming can be extremely stressful.
In my own case, I can actually feel my scalp tingling, especially around the temples, when I am playing games.
During weeks when I have been playing games often, I notice more hairs on my pillow, and if I run my hand through my hair, I notice more hairs fall out than during periods when I have not been gaming at all.

Also, in my own observations a disproportionately high percentage of gamers have thinning hair. It is unlikely the causation is the other way around, that is, that thinning hair is the cause of gaming as most gamers started gaming when young, before their hair could have started thinning.
