Stress and Balding (Video Games [ex: MMORPG])

So I started thinking...

I have been playing World of Warcraft an online MMORPG since November 23, 2004 3:57 PM PST.

Its May 8, 2007 and my last login was at May 8, 2007 9:01 AM PDT.

Now... Surprisingly my hair loss started nearly exactly the same time I started playing WoW.

I got stressed out by playing WoW and eventually started pulling my temple hair out without even noticing...

Now...

I still play WoW and although the balding has stopped/slowed down I'm still losing hair little by little each day should I quit the game all together?

Days where I get stressed or weeks I know I lose A LOT of hair, but its not very noticeable.

If I quit the game maybe I will see improved results since no one in my family suffers from male pattern baldness. (until of course 70's)

But...

Could this be the cause of my "Balding pattern"?

If so... god I'm an idiot.

If not? Why not? I play WoW almost every day. I raid (which means excessive game play from 6 pm-1am every day) and that stresses me the f*** OUT sometimes.

I also play casually when im not raiding (ex: Person vs. Person, which is also very stressful)

If I quit this game I should have my normal hair back in what? 2 months?

Im done with MMORPG's.

Maybe I don't have male pattern baldness Maybe I have MPSB (Male Pattern Stress Baldness) lol.

Funny topic. I thought because you started losing your hair you felt introverted and stayed at home playing WOW. I don't think the game has any effect on your hair..

Actually not...

My hair was fine before playing WoW now its a mess and that was when I was 15 years old when I started playing now im 18 and Im a nw2.5

Also have you ever played an MMORPG?

This game is ADDICTING. ADDICTING = Dying in game = Stress

Failing other tasks in game = STRESS

Whatever it is we will see and I will keep you updated whenever I pull the plug on this game.

June 1st-5th. (HS Graduation)

I must say it has kept me out of trouble.

This wonderful game may do many things to people.... but you can't blame WoW for the terrible, pre-determined curse that is male pattern baldness.

Like I said I don't want to blame this game for my hair loss.

I'm not blaming it.

Im blaming the STRESS Involved in this game. God you guys surely have played EQ/UO/LOTR/SWG/Runescape (lol)?

Well you'll be better off without the game, regardless of its effect upon your hair. You know what you've gotta do.

maybe it's because you are simutaneously surfing for p**rn whilst playing WoW

WOW is lame.

Most MMORPG's are.

Make a character.
Grind that character's levels with missions (kill/escort/retrieve).
(optional crafting if your like that)
Max out then find something else to do(PvP or craft) ... or remake another character and repeat.

If your just into PvP you can cut out the middle men and get into FPS games as they coined the "Noob" and "Pwned" terms.

You've never played WoW?

Yeah its that addicting. I feel like a nerd. :freaked2:

I guess that is why Bobby Fischer lost all his hair, and he played a game that is ACTUALLY stressful.

I am an avid gamer.

I could really go pro if i wanted. Mostly in the FPS genre tho.

Played almost all the popular MMORPG's out there. Beta tested many of the big ones. EQ, EQ2, SWG, MxO, FFXI, WoW, LOTRO, AO, Rose, Fung Wan, EVE, COH/COV, .....

Played most FPS games in league play for a while. Got out of the whole clan CAL scene as I decided on life a few years ago.
RTCW - CAL Invite
SOF2 - CAL open
CS:S

Not into console shooters so i couldn't get into halo or any of that. Strictly an avid computer gamer. But I do have a PS2 and a 360 for some random games. Guitar Hero, DDR, Final fantasy series, Tiger woods, fight night, madden .... I use the 360 mostly for streaming videos i download to my TV now.

wow is just plain retarded to me. I had more fun in the matrix online. too bad sony bought it and ruined it.
