This is my first post so hi. Now that this is out of the way.

So about a month ago i started using rogaine 2 times a day. No complaints so far. I added Nizoral into the mix and now flaking is occuring. I dont and have never had dandruff. And when i just use the rogaine my scalp doesn't flake. It's only right after i wash my hair with the nizoral that my scalp goes into emo mode and starts flaking like crazy. Another tidbit is that i tried nizoral about 6 months ago without rogaine and it didn't flake then either. Any ideas?

Not sure whats going on with you bro, but I'm on rogaine 5% and I also get those flakes. I also shampoo with nizoral twice a week.

I'm pretty sure that at least in my situation, the flaking is due to the minoxidil since I always tend to get some even on days when I don't shampoo with nizoral.

This is interesting because i think i had the exact same situation.

I had like this thick crust sort of in my temples that would flake off. I am almost certain it was from rogaine.

Anyway, i started using head and shoulders and nizoral rotated. I also wash my temple area/hairline with sylicylic acid acne face wash before i go to bed. Its just sort of a habit i develped because i thought it might help topical absorbtion.

Anyway, the crust seems to have just slowly disappeared.

I even forgot about it until reading this thead.

Update!

I switched from rogaine liquid to the foam and no more flaking. The foam is great, but i can't imagine using it if you have longer hair.
