I´ve been researching a lot, but it only seems to make me more cofused. Don´t know if its relevant but Ill describe my problem:

23 y/o. Temples starting thinning at 19 and are now somewhat noticeable but not so much that I MUST regrow. Hair has started thinning on the top but barely noticeable at all. I just need maintainence

So it´s seems to me that there are 3 valid alternatives:

1. Propecia
2. Revivogen
3. Revivogen + spironolactone

is this correct?

Propecia is of course the easier one but like many others I´m scared of the side effects. By googling I find that the risk of side effects is roughly 5%. Does this sound correct? What I couldnt find out though, is how big a percentage of these side effects disappear once you stop taking Propecia? If they disappear very often I´d be very inclined to go with propecia.

The succes rate seem to be roughly 83% Does this sound correct? If someone could link me to valid surveys, that would be great as I haven´t seen any

Revivogen seems to have no side effects. The succes range varies as I google it. I´ve seen numbers from 73% to 88%. Again I haven´t seen any valid surveys. The only one I can find is the 73% one. It uses a sample size of 30 people which is too small. Link?

Adding spironolactone to the mix. Here there are more serious side effects like liver failure. I can´t find the risk of side effects anywhere though. Anyone knows that number? Does spironolactone work? A lot of people think to seem it doesn´t alone. But how much more likely are you to suceed using revivogen if you add spironolactone?

One last question: How long time do you have to use the different products before hair stops thinning?

i'm relatively new to all this compared to some of the others, and i'm also worried about the finasteride sides but your hair will only get worse (well mine will, judging by family members) so i'm PLANNING to start off on a low dose of 0.25mg every other day then go up to every day. your percentages sound about right, but like i've just been told, a lot of the sides can be down to mental state rather than the finasteride.
in regards to the revivogen, my take on it is that it's a lot of money for what you're getting. check my topic i made on it the other day ... viewtopic.php?f=61&t=66889

the spironolactone cream is definitely a good shout. i actually ordered off this site but they fucked it up, so i cba trying to export goods here and i can't find any spironolactone in the UK. that is a topical anti-androgen so i'd personally rather take that than finasteride, it's just more hassle but obviously less sides.

i've also been looking into getting azelaic acid which is meant to be a good anti-androgen too.

"Worst case is you get sides then you can either reduce the dosage or stop it and the sides go away which has been well documented. "

Link to this?

I think it's just generally well-known that the sides stop once you come off. Wiki will probably state it.

But there are (although i'll probably get abuse off finasteride users) cases, where permanent side effects have happened. Like I've read of 2. And apparently Merck & Co. put on their label now that permanent side effects can happen. Again though, this is like 1 in a hundred thousand or something.

Wiki does adress the subject but doesn't state that they mostly disappear, only that they sometimes doesn't.
