Stay on rogaine or no?

Ok so I'm currently on Dutasteride, going on my 3rd month now, and I have been using nizoral for about 2 months.

I started using rogain foam about a month and a half ago twice a day.

I'm writing because I am worried about these massive rogain foam sheds people have been talking about.

I have a pretty substantial amount of hair left on my head, and I'm just looking to thicken it up around the hair line and a bit along the sides. I don't however want a massive shed to come in and take 6 - 8 months to recover from it.

If I quit the rogain now there is basically no harm done correct? I'm assuming that a shed has not already started. And if and when sheds do start, does all the hair come back if you stop using the product? I am guessing since it shed healthy hair in the process it would naturally come back regardless.

Thanks!

If you are going to have a minoxidil shed, it would have happened already. If you're looking for regrowth, it's best to stay on some form of minoxidil. If all you are looking for is maintenance, there's was no point in even starting and should be no problem to discontinue.

ya, i noticed my minoxidil shed from approx. 3-5 weeks and it all came back in stronger. even sometimes when i squeeze too much foam out i'll notice a small shed. that foam's powerful stuff!

What's all this I hear about people furious about minoxidil sheds after a few months on it, and it tears apart their hair line, their scalp, and months later there is no recovery?

Is that basically just very very isolated incidents without any real proof that it was minoxidil that did it in the first place?

What is the typical time for a shed on Rogaine foam? I thought it was around 3 or 4 months no?

If the shed happens within 5 - 8 weeks then what is the time span on the regrowth? Normal hair growth rate?

On a side note has anyone had any experience with Avodart? I read the study on identical twins and the increase of hairs by 96 per inch over I think it was a 6 month period. I always hear people saying it shreds your hairline because of the increase in testosterone by up scaling, but again that is most likely hearsay because there have been no studies or tests to show that.

I mean look at it like this... lets say you were on finasteride for years, then you switch to avodart and your hair starts falling out like mad... you can either a) assume you are not responsive and the effects are now rapidly catching up from being off the finasteride, or that b) Avodart did it, which medically doesn't make sense.

I'm going to discuss this more in the avodart section of this forum. Just if anyone has any opinions I would be happy to hear them.

I am very interested in getting a scalp androgen receptor blocker. I hear there are androgen receptor degrades? Do these still exist? They would be ideal because of the fact that blocking DHT causes an increase of androgen receptors to counter balance it. I heard Revivogen is good, but that could just be a bunch of Revivogen reps spewing their own product on this forum.

Basically I'm looking to gain a little bit on my hairline if possible, fill in a very small gap on my crown, and thicken the sides of the mid section.

Here is my regimen;
Work out 4 days a week

Mens Health Vitamine
Omega 3 - 6 - 9
Avodart 0.5 daily - 2 months
Rogain foam - 1.5 months
Nizoral - every 4 days

XXX - willing to mix one more product into it. preferably a topical DHT blocker or androgen blocker.

Thanks in Advance!
