Starting with Xanadrox

Hi, I decided to only use 5% xanadrox on my temples twice daily. I also use nizoral and t/sal shampoo with my regimen. I'm on my 2nd week and it looks like my temples have gotten alot worse. Is this normal? How often does it take to see some results? I also have purchased procsar, but I am not sure if I am ready for it.

Thanks,
Brian

Usually takes 4 months to see some results. But it can take longer, give it a year or so to see if its full potential. I would start the prosca asap. Dont hesitate, these are proven treatments. Also dont be afraid of hair looking a bit worse, things will hopefully get better with time and treatment.
Goodluck and keep us updated

Ps. Read up on shedding to get a further insight on the hair cycle...

Results should be judged after a few months (6-12 months ideally) not after 2 weeks.

So you are already thinning/receding, we know this because you would not have started the treatments otherwise, your situation has become, in your own words "alot worse" but you are not ready for Proscar, what are you waiting for ?

Minoxidil (even with azeliac acid) is unlikely to stop your hair loss, it will promote some additional hair growth though a lengthening of the hair cycle but you will continue to bald unless you tackle the DHT which is attacking your follicles.

Dr. Lee says the azelaic acid in xanadrox takes care of the DHT, but there are no animal or human studies to show that it actually affects hair growth. Look for evidence and decide for yourself, but I'm not sure I would trust it as the cornerstone of my hairloss prevention strategy. Finasteride does have studies.... http://www.propecia.com

I would stay away from xandrox. You might as well use regular old minoxidil. It will be alot cheaper and just as effective. There is zero to support the use of azelaic acid.

Thanks for all the comments. I will begin taking proscar, but will a 1/4 pill be okay once a day? Also, can anyone recommend a shampoo that you use daily that is not too harsh?

Thanks,
Brian

I have yet to come across a 'harsh' shampoo !!!

I mean it's a shampoo for gods sake !! People speak about Nizoral as if it will strip skin and bone from contact alone.

'Rooscure' is the Dutch term for Nizoral. It was mentioned on another thread, I thought it sounded cool.. but I'm changing it back now.

Sound like that Blitzkrieg 5% I used back in the day.
