Starting to see a little progress at 57

I’ve been lurking on this forum for a few years and thought I’d post some results as I don’t see that much relating to men of my age 57 years old.
I’ve always had thin hair, but I remember it thinking the most in my 20s then pretty much stabilised to a very slow loss.
If anything it was the actual hair strands that got thinner from then on.
Roll forward and in my 40s did the caffeine, laser comb route and lots of other random stuff. Maybe helped to keep what I have, hard to tell.
Anyway took the plunge on minoxidil 4.5 months ago (I stopped for 2 weeks early on as I thought it was making my body itch, but I’m sure that was unrelated now)

Really hard to compare with lighting, haircuts and hairstyles but I’ve done my best and think there’s a slight improvement now soo I’m posting for the old guys with historical diffuse thinning!

I’m using minoxidil 5% twice a day mixed with procapil. I microstamp once a week with a 1.7mm depth in the evening and skipping that application until the next morning (12 hour break after micro needling)

Thanks for the past information that this forum has provided and hopefully this party can give reference to some folks in the future!

May as well use minoxidil straight after stamping IMO. You're making holes for it to permeate so that should be most effective straight away. But just my bro science opinion. I think actual studies suggest 0.6mm was most effective depth for dermarolling but DYOR. Longer needles seem to be used by bro science dudes on forums. Dermarolling/stamping is a difficult strategy to decide on though - I started off deeper for half an hour but now do 0.75mm for 5 mins. Quantifying results is obviously very difficult but my take is I'm making holes for topicals to get in and maybe stimulating blood flow. Long needles for a long time= trauma which IMO isn't good - but again that's bro science.

Thanks man! The only peer reviewed study I saw said 1.5mm once a week with a 24 hour breal. It showed significant improvement over the control group. What other studies are there?
