Telling someone he shouldn't have kids because he's balding has to be one of the most retarded things I've seen on this forum. Holy sh*t.

who told him he shouldnt? I asked him to look in and view his situation and what you could be putting on a future person. Saying "well theres a chance he might not be bald" is like saying "I could win lotto". The chances are that his kid, if a boy WILL be bald and your not going to win lotto.

If you ask me personally I think its selfish when a manic depressant (such as what appears in this sub section most often) who talks about killing themselves, thinks bringing another life into the world isnt selfish and will fix their happiness. Ive lived through it, its not generally fun for the kid. Just me though.

In my opinion I find your comment pretty selfish and retarded. People love to call/compare my opinion to eugenics (which Im also a bit for within reasons) but its like wolfpack stated, smart breeding. I hate when people say "that kid could be the next Einstein", well he/she could also be the next hitler....... I love when people only use hypothetical in their favor. Knowing your weaknesses is a good indicator on whether you should breed. Like wolfpack said and even I have said, why not look into adoption. You are helping a child in need and really accepting none of the blame for any deficiencies. In reality you have the exact same odds of an adopted child turning out to be a maniac or savior as your own.

I don't even know what to say to what you just posted. Maybe we should just kill all people who aren't conform the ideal standard? Oh wait, someone already tried something similar before.

Holy sh*t dude, maybe try to look at the bigger picture? A LOT of people have some issue/defect of some kind. It's not because hair is everything that matters in life for you, that it's the case for everyone.

well my bad, but you should have quoted the original person in your comment then. Either way, thats the guys opinion and its not more retarded than people saying you should procreate on the slim chance your issues wont be inherited.

I don't know what planet you live on but nobody says dumb sh*t like that. What people say is: I hope my child is hotter, smarter & more successful than me and doesn't inherit any of my bad qualities. Nobody procreates with the thought that if X happens (be it balding, small dick, being short, …), their child is a failure. Doesn't mean you can wish for it not to happen.

You really think if people were somehow guaranteed their child would have a minor defect they would choose not to procreate? Or that they should choose not to? Because if balding is a reason, being short should be a reason, having a small dick should be a reason, having a bad facial structure should be a reason, the list goes on & on. How many people are allowed to procreate in your utopia filled with 10's?

Your view on the world is extremely alarming I must say.

If this is what you understand from what swingline and me wrote maybe you the retarded one?
Read again, he is not just some "balding dude", he has severe depression, that all due to hairloss, to the extent he thinks that his life are not worth living. So, in his point of view - isnt it selfish to have a kid, which in most cases will have his baldness gene, and maybe a mind similar enough, to care about hairloss and be depressed over it??
I wouldnt ask it some bald guy who doesnt give a sh*t about his hairloss.

Alright you got me. Depression is clearly just as genetic as the balding gene. Safe to assume there's at least an 80% chance his kid would be severely depressed as well. Well, unless it's a girl of course. And unless he (in case of a boy) gets on medication early. Oh and unless he actually doesn't care as much as his father does, like the vast majority of balding people in the world.

I am pretty confident that hair cloning will be a reality in 20 years. The tell-tale signs are there.

so basically play roulette with another persons possible life even though odds are already stacked against you? Id love to hit a casino with you. Let me be the first to tell you, if the father is openly depressed about his hair loss the kid is going to pick up those traits.

The father is depressed because he has no purpose in life. Having a family would most likely resolve that issue and bring him happiness.

And in what way are the odds stacked against this kid? You're basically assuming it's a boy with hair loss so aggressive that even early medication can't stop it AND on top of that absolutely 0 progress will be made in the next 20 years? Come on now.

the kid, if its a boy will likely blame his father when he starts to lose his hair. and for the next 20yrs its still the big 3

Ehh, this is just gonna turn into a tug-o-war about semantics which is the dumbest kind of discussion. He's depressed because the hair loss brings a ton of other issues. But it's clear you'll refuse to ever look at the bigger picture.

What? Are you implying that most balding people with a bald dad are blaming their fathers?
