Good luck...i hope it works for you. You're braver than me.

Have you got a before pic? If you've lost a significant amount of hair then propecia won't grow it back so is it worth just keeping it short/shaving it and making yourself look 'young' in other ways (like getting in great shape)?

I'd be surprised if propecia helped regrow anything in the front of your head. It's generally more known for helping regrowth in the back of your head and/or maintenance of what you have.

Don't know if you've already gotten your finasteride, but here's the song and dance that I give people when they're taking the plunge :)

http://www.4rx.com/online-pharmacy/cate ... pecia.html

I've been taking Finasteride from them for the last 3 years. My hair loss went from 200 hairs a day to about 25, so I know it wasn't just a sugar pill or something like that. They have online support for questions, and they told me this: "We have more than one supplier for the same medication and we ship out according to the availability of the stock. We carry generic Propecia manufactured by GenPharma, Sunrise, Cipla and Intas Lab Pvt." They have a price-match guarantee as well, so you really can't get a lower price anywhere.

2 money saving tips if you go there...
1: Let's say you want 90 caps. Add the 30 caps to your cart instead. It will take you to a checkout page, but it will also give you a chance to upgrade your order to 90 pills for $7 cheaper. Same goes for if you want to get 360, add 180 to your cart first
(this only works for the 1mg pills, not the 5mg)

2: Use the promo code Q52EM37T during checkout for another 10% off. That's my promo code that I got for being a return customer, so feel free to use it :)
(this works for anything you buy there)

Here's my story, so you know that I'm trying to sell you on the product...not the website :)
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=65594

(I started at .5mg and 3 years later upped it to 1.25mg recently)

I agree with ripple-effect. I have taken 1mg brand Proprecia for more than 3 years a few years ago, it did not help me a bit,but just gave me sides, so I dropped it cold turkey, and I did not lose more hair . I am still using minoxidil, it help to regrow some of my hair and maintain it. I do not even want to think of the time I was on Proprecia, got it out of my body system and out of my mind!
By saying that I have nothing against anyone taking finasteride, but according to my experience it is not for everyone, and sure not for me!

Have only been using it since 16/6, it is too early to say any regrowth, but I feel less shed than when I was using DNC, besides I mix the 15% minoxidil+5%AA with 5% Rogaine, after 2 weeks of 15% minoxidil. I will see in 6 months time, I am waiting for the Folligen to arrive at the moment.

I would say its a fact that any combination of topical treatments available right now will not work as well as something like propecia. No one likes the idea of changing hormones with propecia, but its literally that or go bald right now so make your choice. Its been proven to be a very safe drug and its been out and in use for like 20 years so its about as safe as a drug can get.

Nope. Plenty of people use topical treatments with success. Don't just say it doesn't work. Give your reason too.

I remind you that Dr. Proctor (who has been treating male pattern baldness for decades, using topical agents which are exclusively associated with him alone) has said that Proxiphen is "unquestionably more effective than Propecia alone". I have no reason not to believe him.

Does he sell it himself? If he does then he has a vested interest in it's success, there's one reason not to believe him. A lot of physicians don't know squat about drug actions, or they know the barebones minimum. Some of the people I know who are doctor's are lacking basic brain function, nevermind knowledge on DNA methylation and up/downregulation of transcription factors.

FYI the type of receptor that causes baldness is a GPCR, possibly DHT activated, definately DHT regulated, but it's likely one of the 'orphan receptors' who's ligand has yet to be identified. GPR6C has been implicated in producing effects of hormones, but given the expression pattern, it's probably not the one.

I reckon the ligand that causes baldness hasn't been identified yet, I mean there are over 134 of these GPCRs who's ligands we know NOTHING about.

You watch, in 60 years time this claim will be vindicated, Another GPCR P2RY5? i think, has already been implicated in the hair growth cycle. Frankly, the fact that no research has been done into the orphans for this cause is baffling. Aderans and Follica are sniffing up the wrong tree.

In other news, I've decided that Propecia is nto for me, so I am giving up on it. I'm ok with who I am, people can say jokes etc., but none of it matters, they're just words, ya know?

Peace.
