starting month 6

Just started my 6th month on Propecia, nizoral and folligen. My hair has not improved at all, actually I would say it is the worst it has ever been, still receding and thinning!!! However my scalp is no longer tender and does not have those little pains that felt like pimples....thanks folligen!! Well hopefully improvement will come to fruition in the next six months.....I have two weddings to attend in the fall, it would be ideal if propecia gets its *** into gear by then, but we will see.....thanks for reading my post and best of luck to all.....

I don't know what to say except for that the peak mark of using propecia/minoxidil during the 12th to 14th month is not necessarily a linear improvement, rather not seeing any results for long time since the hair follicles take so long to recover and produce healthy hair. Some experience most of their gains in the 6th month, some 8th, or 12th and so on.

Like HairLossTalk.com always says, have faith in the statistics!

thanks guys, your right, shedmaster....I was just hoping that around the 1 year mark results would be cosmetically satisfactory, Im aiming for just thickening up of the hair line....according to the results most men saw a satisfactory improvement after a year of usage. Im not asking for alot just a bit of thickening....At one years end if results are sh*t, then I will add the minoxidil....

hey jblig, have you noticed a slowing in hair loss at least? Or is it still the same rate? I want to know what i can expect in a few more months.

I don't know how much thickening you will get from propecia alone. minoxidil is obviously the growth stimlant in the equation and propecia's job is stopping the underlying cause of hairloss. If your goal is simply to stop the loss and with a little thickening, then i would probably do the same as you are doing.

Yeah, my goal is to stop with a bit of thickening, its really just my front 2 inches that need some thickening, if propecia can do that for me then i would be very pleased....
Bad *** hair day, Im not really sure if I have seen a slowing down in hairloss, I have never really noticed myself losing alot of hair at one point or another in my life , so it is hard to say, but yeah solidly said my hair is the worst it has ever been, I was just looking at a picture from high school and damn I cant even remember what is was like washing or styling that mop I had then...you dont know what youve got til its gone, so very true.....If I had to do it over agin I would have been poppin propecia in kindergarten to insure my hair.....well it wasnt available then but you catch my drift....

I'm also looking for the same kind of results from propecia, stopping hairloss with a little bit of thickening of the hairline. I'm right around the 10 month mark of propecia and have not seen any improvement as of yet. It's also hard for me to tell if it has slowed down my hairloss because it's a slow process to begin with. I know my hair is continuing to thin along the hairline and temples, so I'm considering not waiting the year on propecia alone and adding minoxidil in the next couple of weeks.

yeah, I hear ya bro, I am very tempted to not wait the full year either to see if this stuff works or not before adding the minoxidil....I'll give it alittle while longer to see whats goin on up there.....
