Hey all,

Basically I've been on Fincar 5mg (split into 4, taken daily) for 15 months. No regrowth, just a steady diffused thinning and the patch at the vertex is now large and very visible. It's very possible that the finasteride has slowed down the process but I cannot possibly tell for sure.

I have decided to add Kirkland minoxidil 5% to my daily routine and I am currently on day 3. Hopefully I'll see some regrowth in the near future. Any comments, notes, advice or shared experiences would be great.

Good luck, i think you've made the right choice! I too have decided to add rogaine foam to my regime - i was trying to avoid it because of the dependancy factor and inconvenience but after a year on finasteride and no real signs of regrowth I've decided to jump on the band wagon, and so far its not that inconvient to apply. I've been on the foam for a month and been off the finasteride for a week because of sides, have noticed a difference but still considering getting back on finasteride but on a lower dosage.

I've had the exact same results as you. Been on proscar cut into 1/4's for 9 months and if anything my hair's gotten way worse. I'm getting that diffuse stripe down the center of my scalp that's only developed over the past 4-5 months. and the center front area is super thin, when it wasnt before. I'm also thinking about getting on minoxidil foam, but with my constant shedding over the past 4-5 months I'm not sure what my hair could possibly look like if I have a bad minoxidil shed. Dont think I could handle it. I've also been thinking about topical spironolactone. We'll see man. Lemme know how it's working out for you. Why arent you getting on the reg. minoxidil rather than the foam anyways??

Where do you buy your Proscar? There is a lot of fake finasteride out there on the internet. You should not have bald that extensively in just one year especially after taking finasteride.
