Starting finasteride again but need opinions

Before I make this commitment again I’m wondering how my baseline is looking. I plan to take 1mg ED and not quit this time. Do you guys think i need finasteride by looking at my hair?

Everyone needs finasteride if they value having the maximum amount of maintenance to work with if other treatments are started or come out in the future. I would in your case even though recession is largely minimal at this point since I believe that sides are nowhere near what commonly claimed but one must decide one's self since in life you pays your money and you takes your chances.

Would you be willing to throw minoxidil into the mix as well? Even once a day usage can give good results.

Idk I think I would just do finasteride for now and see how it does. I just want it to thicken my existing hair as It feels like it’s thinning. If I ever do min I’d think I’d do oral I hate topicals.

Good idea. I use oral minoxidil, and it's been one of the best decisions I've made.

I'm literally staring at the bottle deciding to pop the pill again, I hated the initial shed and having constant fear of sides. The only real side I noticed was increased breast fatty tissue, not necessarily gyno but it still freaked me out. I was only on it for three months.. Not sure if that's long enough to see results.

The goal of using finasteride essentially should never be regrowth. Finasteride is all about maintenance, about staying at a level of baldness that we can live with while we seek solutions. Many attend college, grad school, have marriages and children under the steady maintenance provided by finasteride and dutasteride. I made it to mid to late 40's before everything seemed to implode into rapid aging, dermatitis and full-blown and no longer incipient baldness and yes, that is when I jumped ship.

Well my hairline did thicken while on month 3 so I think it can be subjective. I just got off it too soon due to paranoia. So maybe maintenance and improving quality of existing hair?

You are obsessed my child like so many of us. Anyone obsessed with hair needs to be on a reductase inhibitor because you are of the type to be absolutely crushed if you lose anymore. It's okay to be obsessed if you use this for self-help but I see a therapist weekly. Many of us obviously have underlying mental health states related to baldness that are difficult to address due to extreme embarrassment. Take the blue pill she says....

Maybe try half a dose? A odd thing I've seen is people getting sides on finasteride but nothing on dutasteride. Its odd because dutasteride is stronger than finasteride.

What’s your regiment? Can finasteride alone thicken my existing hair? I feel like I haven’t lost much hair but it’s definitely starting to get a little thinner. Can tell because my bangs are starting to have breaks.

I use dutasteride and oral minoxidil 10mg everyday. Finasteride can thicken hair back up if you take it soon enough before dht damages the follicle too much. Otherwise minoxidil can thicken it. And Finasteride almost always stops the loss though.

Hey I was just giving an update on my hair. I’m not sure if im balding but I’ve been shedding a lot of hair along my fringe and it’s becoming more wispy

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your head. As of now, you are not balding. Stop obsessing over this and go live your life.
