so im going to start dutasteride. I used finasteride for 16 months and it may have slowed down things, but I am definately worse off (started at norwood 1.5 thick, no crown thinning, now i would say 2.5, with diffuse thinning in the horseshoe pattern) So since im starting dutasteride, i was wondering what else i should be doing. Im thinking of using zix to help curb any shedding. Is spironolactone a good idea for the hairline? Also, im going to start the nizoral thing again...

Shedding happens if the drug is working for you. Nothing will stop the shedding - it's part and parcel to the treatment process. Accept it now. You WANT to shed the hairs that are going South, so new, more vigorous growth can emerge. Don't wish for zero shedding, unless you want zero regrowth.
