Starting a regimen in Canada

I am in Canada (Vancouver) and would like to start a regimen. I know that Americans often buy from online Canadian pharmacies, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

1) I would like to get propecia/finasteride. Is there a difference in effectiveness or one is just a generic name for the other? Is the recommended does 1mg a day? Some people recommend getting Proscar and cutting the pills in quarters. Is propecia a prescription drug in Canada? Is finasteride? Is Proscar? Can I get them without prescription? What is the most economical source for Canadians?

2) Rogaine foam - I believe that this is not marketed in Canada. What is an economical US source for Canadians?

3) Is Nizoral shampoo available in Canada? If so, where?

4) What's an economical source for the laser hair comb for Canadians? I'd like to buy the model with AA batteries because I had nothing but trouble in rechargeable batteries on my electric toothbrushes.

5) Did I miss any other important component of a regimen?

I'm from Canada as well, but in Alberta.

1. You can get both generic 1mg and 5mg. It's priced best to get the 5mg generic version from Costco, then split into quarters. You will likely get PMS-Finasteride, which is a generic brand from Quebec. Works fine for me. I spend less than $100 per year on finasteride. Alternatively, if you go with brandname propecia, you are looking at around $800 per year.

2. I don't think 5% rogaine is available in canada, Just 2%. And it's ridiculously overpriced here. A months supply from costco was $60 last time I looked. However, I believe http://www.m_i_n_o_x_i_d_i_l_d_i_r_e_c_t.com (get rid of the underscores, it's blocked on this forum) ships to canada, and you can get cheap rogaine from there. I think they even sell the 5% foam...

3. You can get 2% nizoral pretty much at any drugstore. Costco sells 2-packs of it for pretty cheap.

4. From what i've seen Laser comb is not effective. I wouldn't bother dinking around with it.

5. Nope, finasteride, minoxidil and Nizoral are your 3 effective treatments. Depending on how far along you are, it's best to just start on finasteride and nizoral, then add minoxidil if you still need further growth after a year or so.
