Hi guys,

First post here.

Well, I noticed my first significant hair loss when I was 28 (one of the temples). Looks like its the standard aging related balding and not highly aggressive. I'm now 30 and about a year and half ago I purchased first medication (Revivogen starter kit). I've used it on almost daily basis for over a year but I keep balding especially at temples and my hairline is receding from the temples. Obviously Revivogen won't stop balding per se. After showering I can now see new weakened areas on top of the scalp and at the temples so I figured I need to act fast to at least keep what I have now.

I'd like to take only topical medication cause I'm pretty freaked out of the side effects on Propecia etc.
From what I have been able to research only Propecia seems to work reliably. Do you have any recommendations for topical medication? I'm still hoping to avoid digestable medication.

If I'd have to go for Propecia what are the chances for side effects?

Good luck all and cheers,
Keanu

Small. And don't be persuaded by the vocal minority who will no doubt follow this post with their sensational claims. Only a small percentage experience side effects. And of those people, most of them subside after taking it for a while and don't creep up again.

Thanks for the replies. I've done more research and found out that there is a chance I won't be able to take Propecia. Are there any alternatives to Propecia?

...one of the reported side effects that I saw was a lowered platelet count (part of blood that enables stoppage of bleeding) and mine are already low.
So are there any other options?
