Perfect example of people on hair loss forums spreading misinformation and misleading a newbie. There is a group of people (we've pretty much silenced them here thank God) that post on other forums that Propecia causes hair loss and if you stop it, that lost hair will come back. I won't bother explaining why they're wrong, but they're wrong, as you found out.joshua said:I was hoping that the lost hair would return in the months after I quit, since I've read about this in some articles.
Washing hair doesn't cause hair loss. If the hair was going to fall it would fall with or without a shower. It is more important that you keep your scalp clean and free of excess sebum, which will result in less irritation and a better environment for your treatments to work. Try not to be obsessive about hair loss. Be methodical and scientific instead. Trust the data we do have available to us. Nizoral definitely could make or break your success so if it was not part of your regimen before, this may have played a large role in why you did not see success. However, still ... it is widely accepted knowledge that some people take a full 12 months before Propecia works. This is published data as well. Got to give it time.joshua said:Now I just recently read about Nizoral and the importance of regularly washing your hair when you're on finasteride. I did not use Nizoral in the period that I took proscar, and didn't wash my hair every day either... This was because I lose the most hair under the shower, especially when washing it. So I'm afraid to loose all my hair even faster if I wash it every day...
