Start of long journey of receding?

Now I know that the problems I present in these photos are far from extreme, but please have a look and tell me what I should do. I have read about propecia but then again I've also read that it doesn't work for receding hairlines and only at the crown.

Basically I've started receding at the corners at the top of my head. I know it isnt that serious at the moment and in some photo's it doesnt look receded at all, but what I do know is that it wasnt like this 6 months ago and I had an almost straight hairline with that characteristic peak in the middle. I am almost 22, and the way I first noticed this was after about 10 weeks of the most stress and pressure I've ever been under, I think this is what perhaps has caused it.

I had my hair pretty much shaved off (grade 2) around April 2010 and I noticed nothing abnormal about my hair then, and then around 12 weeks later when it had completely grown again (and after about 10 weeks of massive stress), the first thing I noticed when I got it cut again was that it had receded in the corners. Most of the men in my family are completely bald, so I'm quite worried.

Some of the pics look fine, it always looks better in photos than what I'm seeing it in the mirror. I dont know what to do or wether male pattern baldness induced from stress grows back or what.

Thnx for comments

hard to say but it looks like the very beginnings of a receding hairline to me, you've got what looks like a tiny bit of thinning at the edges and some miniaturisation. i wish i'd realised when i was at that point, woulda saved myself a _LOT_ of grief later on.
the temples are meant to be harder but finasteride is great at retaining what you still have, so that could be a pretty good thing to start on. i'd say get on a generic instead of brand propecia. you'll barely spend a penny and it'll be a lot of peace of mind.

Where can I get generic if I'm in the UK? Is that the only thing I should use? It seems like there isn't much for people who get that M shaped hairline with no thinning at the crown

I'm not sure, I know some people here in the US order from this site:

http://inhousepharmacy.biz/

I think they ship to the UK. There's another site too called United Pharmacies, but I have never ordered from there.

Most people here just order Finpecia or Fincar. If you get Fincar, it's a tiny round pill that you divide into 1/4ths. It's cheaper but a little bit annoying to have to divide up and all.

And yeah, that's probably the only thing you should use right now if I were you.

A) It prevents further loss

B) Your loss JUST started, so you will hopefully never lose anything while you're on it.

Keep us updated.

Other than the reported side effects on the packet, nothing else happens if you take propecia and you don't actually need it?

Actually my cousin, who is the daughter of my mum's sister (all men on my mums side are bald) is 30 now and still has hair (maybe receded a bit underneath as it is brushed forward), and my dad had that slightly receded brushed back hair that loads of men seem to have (think Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2), or at least he did from about 25 - 45 years old. Maybe I am following him into that as my hair is the same colouring and texture as his?

These are the only 2 men in my family that dont 'look bald' or are actually bald though.

Also the small hairs your seeing at the front, in the black and white pics are where I cut them as I got so paranoid about 6 weeks ago to make sure they were still growing. I think I do need to try propecia but for some reason I'm scared of being 'on medication' every day.

It's the most effective treatment out there, so you need to try it.... If you get side effects or it doesn't agree with your body then you can always get on Regaine (Minoxdil) afterwards. Finasteride is the best long term solution however.
