I have been using nizoral for about a month now(every 3 days) and have just picked up my propecia which i will be starting on monday. I know that I will eventually be adding minoxidil to the plan. Heres my questions:

-Will starting propecia and minoxidil at the same time cause a greater amount of shedding?
-If i am only applying minoxidil along my frontal hairline, will the shed only be in that region or through out the scalp?
-Will everyone experience a shed on minoxidil?

Thanks for the input

1. maybe a greater shed but likely only one at the beginning - best to get it over with together.
2. should only be in the immediate + area you apply to...
3. No. But it's likely you will have at least a small one.

If you want save your minoxidil card for later, that's not a bad idea. However if you do shed on Finasteride, you might go through an additional shed again when adding minoxidil......

The only option I wouldn't reccomend, is starting minoxidil before Propecia... just doesn't seem logical..

1) not to pick on you but why even worry about it? minoxidil and propecia are the only two medications to fight hairloss, if you want to win the fight you need to use one or both, things like shedding shouldnt worry you

2) where ever the minoxidil is applied is going to be where the shed occurs

3) reports of it seem to be of a pretty high percentage, i saw a good amount of shed on minoxidil

the reason i worry is that i have a bad receding hairling. If i shed some from the propecia and some more from the minoxidil then the fron of my head will look like $hit- i do understand that the shed hairs will grow back. I just want to minimize the chance of looking worse then I have to, you know?
thanks

Not everone sheds. I did not.

My advice is to use all of the Big Three at one time. Get you DHT levels down and handle the inflammation. Also stimulate growth. The minoxidil will save some hairs which at this very moment are in doubt FOREVER!

Use it or lose it!

Good luck

I would start everything at once as they all work.
