Sprouting along the hairline... is it too little too late?

I'm well into my 3rd year of Propecia, and although I feel like I've been holding my ground considerably over that length of time, never have I honestly felt like I was making SERIOUS gains along the hairline. It may be slightly better than it was 3 years ago, but besides some shoddy pictures of my hairline at that time, I'm not really sure. It definitely is thicker however.

Now, at this relatively advanced stage in Propecia usage, one would assume that all gains to be had are over. I had assumed that at this point I would be in a purely maintenance stage until the drug had run its course and I started to lose again. However, very recently I am noticing a dense population of quite noticeable black hairs growing along my temples, my left one (which is hurting the worst) especially. These hairs are being joined every week it seems by new ones pushing further and further out from my existing hairline.

On my left temple, I am looking at nearly a centimeter all around the perimeter where these hairs are growing. They are promising as well considering the tops of them are blonde and the bases are getting thicker and darker.

But all this for what? This is my question. Is it too little too late? Do these hairs have the potential to sprout into a noticeable and cosmetically beneficial hairline even just for a couple years? Any insight or experience with this sort of phenomenon?

Thanks for any responses.

Get some minoxidil foam and apply it to your temples only to get those suckers grown out. It should give you a different and nicer hairline.
