Hi guys as some of you may have seen I'm pretty dam good at the back, but my recession is worse than a Thatcher Government. Does sprio actually work on the temples, has anyone actually had any sucess, or have there even been any tests carried out on the stuff?!

Cheers

its good how things progress and people have become more realistic on here. spironolactone used to be talked about a lot as a pretty good treatment when i joined but not too many use it anymore. possibly could help with the hairline but youd need to be pretty consistent i think.

Hi Sean

My temples are pretty crap it has to be said and my horseshoe is starting to show. I currently use Foam for about a month, after being on solution min for about 2 years. I am also 2 months into finasteride and nizoral so I just wanted to know if anything was avaliable specifically for the temples and frontal region.

I see you have been taking medication and aids for some while, how sucessful have you been? I'm not sure I would want to go onto dutasteride.

just stick with the big three mate youre doing the right thing. spironolactone is easy to put on the hairline but like everything you need to keep it
up or theres no point using it. it didnt help me but i couldnt keep up with the applications. if i were you the next thing id add would be copper peptides. i use nano as its convenient to use a shampoo and i still have a decent amount of hair and its difficult to use a spray like tricomin.

ive had no results whatsoever but dont be disheartened by that plenty of people do.

Arn't copper peptides used for Skin anti ageing? I have no idea what Nano does though.

You say you have had no results whatsoever, are you going to stop your treatments soon then? Or do you genuinely believe they are slowing the process?

Yeah bro, I'll be honest I am very disheartened. But I also believe that most people benefit from treatments in some shape or form. Looks at CCS's old post and try his spironolactone formula. Do not waste 100s of dollars on spironolactone concoctions made by others. Make your own spironolactone. Just buy some spironolactone pills from United or Inhouse, crush them and mix them with your Nizoral. That's it, spironolactone on the cheap. Give it a try if you like, some have benefitted from it, just not me.

I think i'll leave spironolactone until I have been on the big 3 a bit longer. I'm getting married next year and the dreaded wedding photos are already in the back of my mind. Temple regrowth would be a winner. I'll move down this route a bit further down the line. The big days not till September 13th anyway.

I've used spironolactone successfully (on and off) for about 2 years. It's an extra expense, so I can only go a few months at a time until I can't afford it anymore.

I've had success using it on the hairline and a pinch on the crown. It works very well with minoxidil and copper peptides, in my opinion.

Can you elaborate a little? How often do you use it? Are you using anything else?

Did u make your own spironolactone? Seems that many prefer to use cream instead of liquid

Kayser where did you get your spironolactone from? Are there instructions with it on how and where to apply the stuff?

I am currently using spironolactone 5% cream from Dr. Lee for about 2 weeks now. I gotta tell you, this stuff is VERY easy to use. I put my foam on in the morning then 10 minutes later I put the sprio on, same for the night time application. It dries clear in about 5-10 minutes. I shave my head about every 5 days so it is definately easier to apply but a little bit of this stuff goes a long way. I am a diffuse thinner so I use it all over my head. As far as the smell, no problems with odour at all. Alot of the complaints you will hear about spironolactone are from guys that have used the older formulations. This new formulation IMHO is quite good. Now how well it will works remains to be seen!

JWM- Yes I use spectral DNC in the morning, and have recently swtiched from Lee's 5% minoxidil to Dr Kleins Promox for my evening application. I'm not using finasteride. but using saw palmetto which has serioulsly helped believe it or not. but spironolactone 5% cream from Lee's doesn't smell that bad, it sure beats the 2% I wouldn't touch that stuff ever again, smells like skunks @ss. Basically I'm on Immortal regime with Saw P, Nettle, Pumpkin Seed, Pygeum.

basically I put a thin layer of spironolactone 5% cream 15-20 min after my minoxidil applications. use Tricomin after a shower a few sprays really soothes the scalp. I'm a diffuse thinner front, crown, you name it. At first the sprio cream was a pain in the @ss, I believe I was using too much at once. using smaller amounts in all areas works well. The Gardener gave me a few tips on spironolactone application a while back.. At first I almost stopped because of shedding but I have been fighting Hair loss since 2004 & have learned that sheds can be a good thing... my overall density as improved nothing miraculous... U can definitely fight hair loss without a 5AR like finasteride or dutasteride..
