The difference is the vehicle substance, and the ease of application in certain areas of your scalp.

The 2% is a liquid that is dabbed on, and the 5% is a cream.

The 5% cream works best in areas where there is little to no hair, such as on your hairline, or on the bald part of the temples. The 5% is NOT as good in areas where you already have good hair volume because the cream tends to stick to the hair. So, in these areas where, for example, you have diffuse thinning, or, good hair counts but thin hair, the 2% liquid works better.

But the 5% is a higher concentration and could perhaps be more effective. But yes, if you are applying to thinning areas and your hair is diffusely thinning, use the liquid.

Gardener,

You are right, 5% cream spironolactone is really hard to dab on areas with good hair counts.
From your point of view, what would you use on those areas, 2% liquid (Lee's / genhair) or 5% liquid from CEM ?
