spironolactone 2% liquor or 5% cream... which is recommended and why?

The 2% is a liquid that is dabbed on, and the 5% is a cream.
The 5% cream works best in areas where there is little to no hair, such as on your hairline, or on the bald part of the temples. The 5% is NOT as good in areas where you already have good hair volume because the cream tends to stick to the hair. So, in these areas where, for example, you have diffuse thinning, or, good hair counts but thin hair, the 2% liquid works better.
