I have been reading recently about people making their own topical and cream spironoloacetone.
Being a student this is a much more cost effective way to work things - especially seeing as my s5 cream hasnt arrived yet and my spironolactone tabs have!
I have quite long hair and when dr lee was around I was using his 2% and the 5% cream too.
I would like to make the 2% mixture but am having trouble here in the UK obtaining ethanol.
I have even tried to obtain polish vodka at 95% without luck.
Can i mix the tabs with isopropyl alcohol and Pg to the same effect?
OR what about adding the spironolactone to my alpecin liquid which has alcohol denat?
Secondly I would like to make the cream too and recently read about a user Bryan making it with aloe vera - which I feel would have a good benefit to my scalp.
Are there any special ingredients needed in the aloe vera?
the one I have is
Aqua - 30-100
Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice - 3-10
Glycerin - 1-3
Carbomer - 0.3-1
Sodium Hydroxide - 0.1-0.3
Magnesium Chloride - <0.1
Magnesium Nitrate - <0.1
Citric Acid - <0.1
Methylchloroisothiazolinone - <0.1
Methylisothiazolinone - <0.1
Potassium Sorbate - <0.1
Sodium Benzoate - <0.1
Can I just go ahead and add the right amount of tabs to the right amount of aloe vera gel and if it doesn't dissolve fully add some polysorbate?
or do i need to dissolve in isopropyl and then mix in with the aloe vera gel?
