spironolactone S5 Cream: Best Way to Apply? Leaves Hair Greasy :\

thread title says it -- what's the best way to apply s5 cream? i'm experimenting using a q-tip at this point, but even with that, my hair is far noticeably more greasy looking, which therein makes my hair look thinner when the cream is applied. any tips/pointers to make this work without looking like crap post-application?

Edit Admin: A new article discussing application instructions for S5 Cream:

If you can I would just do it on hairline and thin spot in back. It absorbs into like a 1 sq inch area so don't even touch your frontal hair but just put it on forehead below hairline and maybe your thing spot may get a lil greasy, but better than having a full greasy head.

Where did you read it absorb in 1 sq inch? Just wondering

real curious about that too... by that theory, you would only need to put a dab every inch apart on your scalp and be fully covered. duno if that's fully believable or not.

either way, i'm trying to protect the full front third of my scalp, as that's where i was thinning pretty badly before taking finasteride (and i just recently removed finasteride from my intake). so, still open for any other suggestions on how to apply it effectively without greasing hair.

Cream in your hair, that's quite disgusting.

I know you don't need to put a lot of s5, just a thin layer of cream. It gets dry pretty quick.
If it leaves your hair very greasy you can always apply it at night. It needs to stay on your scalp for around 4 hours to get fully absorbed.

When it comes to 1sq inch I heard about that somewhere long time ago but I can't remember where and I'm not sure if there is any truth to that. That's why I asked ladysmanflpz where he read about that.

what type of s5 cream do you use? i apply a thin cream at night and my hair/scalp is still greasy in the morning...doesn't dry quickly. i purchased the cream from this website.

I use s5 day cream. I also used night version and it feels the same when it comes to greasiness. But I always take a shower and wash my hair in the morning or I would have greasy hair during the day and it's not because of spironolactone and liquid minoxidil but the way my scalp is. I need to shampoo it every morning.
Btw I also buy it from this webpage.

is the reason you only apply it at night due to the texture? personal preference? or is it actually not needed 2x's a day? thanks for the response!

I'm sorry i guess I should mention I use it 2 times a day but I use it slightly more at night. I use minoxidil liquid only at night as it does leaves my hair look greasy.

what's your full regimen? i'm starting to think we're doing similar things. mine is currently:

-nizoral 3 days a week, nioxin on alternating days
-biotin, fish oil, complex-b, ginkgo, every day.
-rogaine 5% 2x's a day
-spironolactone s5 cream 1-2x's a day (still figuring this out. looks like i'll be adding it strictly to hairline during day, and more heavily at night)
-recently (8-9 weeks ago) removed finasteride .625mg mon-fri from my intake

considering i'm still shedding from dropping finasteride, and i don't see that stopping on its own (unless spironolactone works well), i'm currently considering these additionals,in no particular order:
a.) RU...still extremely scared on this, considering i gotta mix it myself and it's clearly not on the every-day market
b.) flutamide...i don't know **** about it at this point, but see it mentioned a bit here
c.) a saw palmetto/zinc/pumpkin seed multi vitamin
d.) revivogen...been hearing mixed reviews on this
e.) re-starting propecia again, but lowering dose to .25mg and only doing 3 days a week. i don't want to do this until my pfs mental sides fully subside.

i'm going to start "c.)" tomorrow for sure, but duno on the rest. god, i wish i were one of the lucky ones who can take propecia daily without any sides... or for that matter, one of the other lucky ones who don't have to deal with this **** to begin with. damn, now that i think about it, i've got some **** luck when it comes to this hair thing.

spironolactone 2 times a day, nizoral shampoo - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 5% minoxidil liquid at night, hair signals almost everyday - it's copper peptide, saw palmetto solution but I'm not sure if it does anything but I use it anyway.
