ive asked this before but i dont think anyone would use it on its own. in theory it does work but i dont think there would be any testimonials on here from people whove just used topical spironolactone.

Yeah I've noticed that too. A lot of people use it, but no one really seems to know if it's doing anything. I just bought some at wholesalehairproducts.com and I think I totally got ripped off. It looks like someone got some moisturizer cream and made a photocopy of the word spironolactone...(whatever the word is) and slapped it on the jar. I feel really dumb.

there are some studies proving spironolactone has an antiandrogen effect when applied topically and dr.lee and dr.proctor both think is an effective treatment. problem is, i don't think you'll find many who use spironolactone alone. most combine it with other treatments such as minoxidil and/or finasteride.

i'm taking 50 mg of oral spironolactone for 8 months. I think my thickened a little bit. Unfortunately my flaking skin ruins my all from time to time.
