I'm currently on duta. Considering adding spironolactone. Would the spironolactone make the dutas non effective as it decreases test and dutasteride technically increases test. Would I see better results adding spironolactone. ( I know it's a serious drug and am only considering adding it. Most likely at a low dose of 100- 150mg ). Anything else I should expect or know from other users ?

Don't use oral spironolactone (topical is fine though) unless you are transgender. In the doses required to help your male pattern baldness, it will more than likely induce muscle loss, gynecomastia, severe ED, and infertility... You may also get things like fat redistribution i.e. feminization. Lowering your T is dangerous stuff (unless the goal is feminization).

I notice you take spironolactone and are teansgender. Is the 200mg you take for transgender related or hair related. So in other words is 200mg a dosage that's recommended for hairloss or teansgender.

Also would you say that there is no safe dosage that won't likely cause major sides?

I take spironolactone because it's a testosterone blocker and blocking testosterone is required in order to get good feminization results. It's just a happy coincidence that blocking testosterone is good for hair loss, but I would be taking it even if I had no hair loss.

I would say to just think about how spironolactone works for hair loss: reducing testosterone. There is no situation in which that is good for someone who wishes to be a virile male. Reducing testosterone is always bad in that sense, so I would say oral spironolactone for hair loss shouldn't even be considered an option... but that's just my opinion as someone on the drug.
