spironolactone Advice Needed.

Spironolactone 100 mg and finasteride 1mg. What are the chances of getting gyno on such a dose?. Are there any studies which correlate spironolactone dosage and risk of gynecomastia?. If anybody has been taking spironolactone for hair loss, your advice would be appreciated.

I've been on 1mg/day finasteride just over 1 month and have been experimenting with spironolactone 100mg oral for a similar time.

Very mild sides on finasteride - not bothered.

Initially began with 50mg spironolactone morning and 50mg night. After a week I had trouble getting and maintaining an erection. Body felt overall weird.

Have lowered to 50mg once a day for a few days, similar issues persisted.

If I stop for a day the sides dissappear. Trying to work out the next dose to try. 50mg every other day?

Sure is powerful stuff

Depends on your body, but using spironolactone long term is very likely to result in some mild feminization. Gyno is a very real possibility.

I am going through the same issues along with excess urination from spiros diuretic effects. I take a 100mg everyday in divided doses plus finasteride. I hope you find the dose that works for your libido best. Keep me updated if you do find one. Glad to see another spironolactone user man

Finasteride increases your estrogen levels, and with less testosterone from spironolactone competing with said estrogen, it will likely go even even more. With that going on some degree is feminization is incredibly likely.

Interesting, I was unaware that finasteride increases estrogen levels. I may have to research on that.

Exactly how much feminization is possible though?, I am willing to bear some side effects, I am that desperate to keep my hair. But any signs of gynecomastia and i will stop immediately.

Im suprised though, After reading so much I thought spironolactone 100 would be safe long term. Is it not the case?.

Back on 50mg a day,seem to be tolerating it well enough this time, 25 morning 25 evening. Not sure if such a low dose would be doing anything though.

The only side I had when I tried spironolactone, was my racing heart. Felt like it was gonna pop out of my chest...But then again, I didn't ease into the med...I kinda just hopped on 100mg
