Question for the pros.......does a normal person with little to no male pattern baldness able to see his scalp when it is dry and spiked up. Basically I towel dried my hair and spiked it up with a brush and some scalp is visible....not sure if it was like this before or not but just curious as I don't remember being able to see scalp. My hair is about 2 inches long??

no

not trying to be like taugenideutsch but you shouldn't really be able to see any scalp when it's dryand spiked up unless you have male pattern baldness, but take some pics and let's take a look

It depends on your hair density. Alot of people have no male pattern baldness at all, and simply have a smaller amount of overall hair distributed throughout the scalp. Many asian men for example, can wear their spiked several inches, and scalp is still visible from every angle.

Scalp visibility is not a good indication of male pattern baldness. What is a good indication are dramatic differences in density throughout the head. For example, if you see scalp on the top of your head and 1 inch, and non of the side at 1 inch, then you may have problem.

Head shape plays a role as well, and the direction your hair grows. Those with soft hair, have hair shafts that lie down more and thus cover more scalp. Those with coarse or curly hair, have hair shafts that stick up, like spikes, and reveal more scalp.

Conclusion: Just because you can see scalp, does not mean you have male pattern baldness.

Of course it is bullshit that you automatically have male pattern baldness when you see some scalp with spiked hair. Some have naturally thin hair and they will always see some scalp without having male pattern baldness. Whether you actually see scalp depends on various factors such as light conditions, length of the hair, amount of hair gel.........
A general answer is not possible.

well mine is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches and when its dry and spiked up I can usually see scalp under a bathroom light or flash of a camera up close but normal conditions looking down its almost invisible. So do the same answers hold through for my question under bright lighting up close??
