I was really pleased when I found this stuff!

I'm a real sucker for the stylish Spectral branding but I still didn't want to blast loads of money on Spectral.DNC especially when the difference between it and regular minoxidil doesn't seem THAT huge and also I hate the way it makes my hair feel all like... gelled! Doesn't really work so well when you have a longer hair style! Plus the whole yellow scalp thing with DNC and RS! They're probably best used when trying to get regrowth (but even then I think combining minoxidil with something like miconazole or Folligen would work better).

But yeah, I just find that when the treatments I use have like, cool looking branding like Spectral I don't care about people finding them as much or leaving them lying around or whatever, which does have an impact on things IMO. It's a tiny bit more than kirkland (maybe?) but I wonder if there really IS an advantage to higher quality/purity minoxidil?

hm yeah that is kinda high. Do you know what some of the others are?

Up until now I've been using Dr Lee's 5% on my hairline but of course I can't buy his anymore, so it was between Spectral, Kirkland or some kind of generic minoxidil brand. I don't tend to believe in spending excessive amounts on what is essentially just minoxidil rebranded, so I just bought Spectral UHP on ebay a moment ago for about £11.50 for a single bottle, which I think is reasonable.

I don't think I react to PG, but perhaps next time I should buy a product with less PG.

I wonder which one has the least Also, isn't PG good for the product in some way.. that's what I thought?

I think you paid over the odds as 3 months is £18 here.

Also I don't think UHP means anything. It's a cheapo minoxidil, akin to Kirkland.

I'm in the UK too and I get my cheapo minoxidil from Biovea, I think it's going to be Kirkland (I just bought 3 months supply) but I also bought the Spectral MX5 stuff to try out.

The box calls it 'Spectral.MX5 Ultra High Purity 5% Minoxidil Solution ... Low alcohol formula'.

The 'MX5 - low alcohol formula' bit just seems to be another marketing thing. It's as cheap as the regular Spectral UHP and the packaging explains absolutely nothing. (It doesn't dry any faster than Regaine, it feels very similar). The only mention of the 'low alcohol formula' is on the box and bottle label. Nothing on the leaflet to explain. The leaflet looks like they took some previous product and did a 'find-and-replace' on the phrase 'Spectral.MX-5'.

That said I know what you mean, the Spectral packaging is really nice, I was impressed for the price and part of me wouldn't mind so much if a mate saw it in the bathroom.. as opposed to Regaine which would be pretty embarassing

I don't think DS Labs are that bad. A bit hit and miss, but they seem to be able to get it REALLY right sometimes.

And yeah I know I ended up paying £11.50 for one month when I could get 3 for about £21 or something, but I can't really carry round loads with me as I'm going to be moving soon (most likely to a different COUNTRY), plus I am still trying different products so I didn't want to invest in 3 months worth outright.

MX5 looks interesting - great to see that there is a growing range of Spectral products on the market.

Why do you think it's cheap minoxidil though? Is there any reason to believe that?

I really can't believe any Spectral product uses especially cheap minoxidil

I'm saying it's cheap as in less £ than Regaine, I'm not saying it's poor quality. But I don't believe that 'Ultra High Purity' is anymore than pure marketing spin, I don't think its any 'purer' than Regaine, especially as it's a third of the price of buying Regaine at Boots!

yah but I sincerely doubt all that money results in higher quality! It results in nice branding and convenience I think!!

I wish they sold Spectral DNC and CB-03-01 products and stuff at Boots ._.

Hooray it arrived!

And yeah it looks cool! I genuinely wouldn't care if someone found it lying around the bathroom or something, which I think does make life much easier! Same goes for the keto shampoos really, and other stuff I take and use

Did anybody have success with the MX5 or any Spectral products?
I'm starting to think this stuff is bull**** and I'm probably changing to another product. It's quite expensive in Switzerland, Spectral is one of the only prodcuts I can afford.
