Hello All,

I want to try rogaine, but it seems several people have commented on its greasiness, stickiness, and also causing irritation. My scalp is quite oily and sensitive, so I don't really want to put more oily stuff on it. Does rogaine really feel that bad? Are there other good brands for minoxidil that I can buy in drug stores? Some people mentioned Dr. Lee brand and said it dries off faster. Is that an online brand only?

Secondly, are there differences between Neutrogena T gel and Nizoral shampoo? Which one works better for you?

Any inputs are appreciated.

thanks,
donny

Im using finasteride, so i don't personally know what using rogaine is like but, rogaine doesnt make everyone's head feel oily and glugy. Thats just some people. There are a few different strengths of rogaine the main ones are 2% and 5% It is said that the 5% one makes your hair oily and glugy, but i don't know. The 2% one is said to be ok and it doest cause any oily feeeling on your head.

Why don't you give the 2% one a try for a say 6 months and see how you go? if it doesnt work, maybe step up to the 5%. Also you don't have to use rogaine thats just a brand of a product that contains minoxidil. There are many other brands to use, i suggest you research them and find out what suits your needs.

as for T-gel and nizoral, it is said that nizoral can help reduce amounts of DHT in your scalp, thats why they used t-gel in propecia trials. they wanted to see if propecia alone helped hair loss.

Using just one product is probly not the best way to attack male pattern baldness, you have to hit it on multiple sides like minoxidil, finasteride and nizoral together. Anyway best of luck and i shalle seee you in the forums.
