Some general questions I would really really appreciate answers for.

Ok so I have some general hair loss/side effect questions that no matter how much I Google I cannot get a straight answer for.

1) I used Minoxidil 5% for exactly 1 month and then quit because of sides. Heart palpitations and bad rings under my eyes. I don't know if it caused me to shed though, I'm losing probably 300+ hairs a day. I would say personally my Androgenetic Alopecia is pretty aggressive and I'm experiencing some Telogen Effluvium because of a really really awful 6 months of my life but I have very thick hair so still trying to hide it. Will I grow back anything I may have shed from the Minoxidil or Telogen Effluvium?

2) I'm on Finasteride. No specific dosing, normally 1.25mg every 3 days but it helps alleviate my sides a bit. (I get quite bad constipation, very weird. Could be the filler in the pill though). I'm able to get an erection but they're definitely not at big as normal. Lost some length and girth it seems and they just feel less full. I had a 4/5 days break last week while on holiday and they returned to about 90%. Will those go away with continued use? I'm very proud of my penis, I get regular compliments by women and I'd hate to lose some of it's size/potential.

3) Why do some people lose erectile strength? Is it lack of DHT in penis tissue? Is it lack of Nitric Acid in blood stream? Will stopping smoking and doing more cardio help? I'm gong to try doing Kegals soon aswell.

4) What is RCH-01 (by Replicel) I hear about? Is this going to be the big cure? How does it work? How much does it cost? Is it permanent or something you have to get regularly like monthly, yearly etc. Can people get it, even at a young age? (I'm 22 and have gone from a Norwood 0 to a 3 in around 1 1/2 years).

5) What could my hair transplant options be? What costs are they? Is there not a risk my hair will recede further around the transplants? If you have thicker hair are you a better candidate for a transplant? Because I started losing hair rapidly and quite young it's likely I'll be Norwood 6/7 right? Am I too young to be a candidate?

6) What foods/teas/supplements slow hair loss? I used to drink ALOT of green tea that oddly coincided with a rapid speeding up of hair loss. Some say it helps, some say it makes it worse. I take Biotin, Zinc (helps lower estrogen I believe?) and Vivscal (suspected snake oil but willing to try it for 6 months). My diet is very good, no junk food or sodas and very little alcohol. I have a very active job (walk 7 miles on average a day). However I eat a lot of carbohydrates, is this bad? Will this affect hair loss? I never put weight on though, 6ft 2, 70kg, probably about 3% body fat.

7) Does male pattern baldness ever just stop on it's own? Even just for a few years? My doctor says it comes in phases but I don't know how long a "phase" is. He wasn't specific.

Thanks for your time. I just want some straight answers rather than wading through the crap on the Internet :)

Bump for answers? Anyone please? I'm sure it's not just me that will benefit from knowing the answers.

Allow me to give you some answers, young bird:

1) No way to tell if minoxidil is causing your shed or Telogen Effluvium...I don't know if you'll grow back what has shed, 1 month on minoxidil might have done something...maybe not

2) The chances of women ever getting close to your penis again, let alone even looking at it will become VERY SLIM if you become a slick NW6...(Unless you just have an incredibly handsome face) Stop worrying about your dick size & fix your hair

3) I don't know the factual science behind DHT & Sexual function...but I do know the 'Bro-Science' behind it:
finasteride is like really weak estrogen. The more estrogen in a male, the more lady-like he becomes.

4) no idea

5) no one knows how a transplant will work out for you...But generally yes; thicker donor hair is better

6) Stop with all that 'Mother Nature' crap...Either take what's scientifically proven, or go bald.

7) No one knows when male pattern baldness will start or end...If that were the case, we'd all be 'full-heads'

At least your proud of your penis, and didnt give us a full schedule of when you like to fap. male pattern baldness has very few absolute answers it varies so much from person to person. Answers on almost all of it are in very short supply like most things in medicine its largely guesswork. Could male pattern baldness stop by itself? Yes, but how many conditions get better or reverse by themselves as you age? Not many I would wager it gets worse before it gets better.

I'm sorry, but this is just hilarious. :worthless:

Jk. Please don't post pics.

1.That's impossible to say. If it fell out due to minoxidil it should grow back. It would have grown back thicker if you had not discontinued minoxidil.

2/3.Your testes can shrink on finasteride, but your penis will not. It only seems that way if your erections are not as strong. DHT is important in achieving an erection, lower DHT means your erections are not at full strength. Most people will return to normal within months after discontinuing treatment. Sides can subside over time as your body adjusts to the medication.

4.It is potentially game changing, but probably not a cure. The hope is that it will permanently halt hair loss, and perhaps regrow any follicles that are still alive, but only time will tell if booster treatments will be needed after so many years. It could be available as early as 2018 in Japan, but their trials are being held up by the Japanese health ministry, so delays are expected. There is no reason that the treatment couldn't be given at any age. It does not affect hormones, and should have zero side effects.

5.You generally want to be a certain age and have stopped thinning for some time before getting a transplant to be reasonably certain that you won't just end up losing the hair behind the transplant. You will need to be on anti-androgens for the rest of your life to maintain, or until there is a cure.

6.Green tea should be good for your hair. Taurine helps to reverse fibrosis. Biotin and MSM are good for follicle health. Collagen supplements help alleviate the sides from minoxidil. minoxidil really is the only game in town if you are serious about regrowth. There are other things like Adenosine and bimatoprost that work just as well, but they all have the same sides as minoxidil.

7.It does often stop on its own, where it will stop, or if it will stop, there's no way to know.
