So I have always had pretty thick hair. My family has had alittle history with hair loss but no one started losing there hair very early on. So anyways lately my hair seems to have lost density and such in the front around my hairline or so it seems. I noticed this recently since my hair was on the longer side. Just a Note I am only 18 yrs old at the moment. I figure I still have time to prevent hair loss. Anyways I was thinking about going to see a dermatologist. Would that be the recommended thing to do?

I would seriously just recommend you book an appointment with a professional hair transplant doctor, the reason being is that they're specialized in hairloss and will likely map your hair out for miniaturization and can tell you exactly where you stand in terms of where your hair is thinning and to what degree. A DHT blocker is EXTREMELY important to prevent further hair loss. I really wouldn't go to a derm or a regular doctor because in my experience they simply don't know jack sh*t.

stress can have some to do with it.. but mostly the reason is regular male pattern baldness.
Get checked out and get on a dht blocker.

their are 2 school of thoughts here you have caught it very early and many people don't so that is on your side, however it is very young to start going bald if that is what it is ,if it is male pattern baldness get on meds ASAP and you have a chance

Thanks which dht blocker would you recommend? And also using a dht blocker in a situation where you weren't experiencing male pattern baldness or hair loss couldn't have any bad side effects? I'm just wondering since I'm not certain if I am or not but I would like to take precautions to make sure that I don't.
