I have taken finasteride 1mg for severn months. It works fine for me in the first five months with no side effect. The result really makes me happy. But in this two months, I noticed apparently shedding different from before. I feel frustrated and depression. In fact, I really worry about it. Should I stop takeing finasteride instead of a topical anti-androgen or go straight with it? How long does the bad time last by your experience? Give me some advice, please!!!
Thanks.

With everything your using... i think it would be fair to say you cant necessarily blame shedding entirely on finasteride. Topicals can certainly induce this shedding.

finasteride = Good

This is a classic example of the difficulty helping people on a forum. The original poster only says he's on Propecia for X amount of months. Thats all he says. Period.

But you look in his signature and he on at least 5 other very potent treatments. Now when did he start propecia? When did he start the others? Has he added to or taken away from the overall regimen lately? Is he aware that many people do not tolerate Xandrox 15 very well because they feel it is *too* strong for them? Could the Xandrox be causing the shedding?

Too many unanswered questions to give any good advice standpt... other than, if you were only on Propecia like your post implies, I would tell you to ride out the shed and you'll be fine.

I am sorry for no detail description. I start minoxidil 5%(about 2.5ml a day at a time) & finasteride 1mg seven months ago. And then I added lasercomb six months ago & nizroal three months ago. But the shedding began two months ago. Besides, I start to use Xandrox15 & Spironolactone 5% & Regrowth Treatment Shampoo one month ago. So I guess it might cause by finasteride. I know my situation is complicated. Can everyone give me some advice or suggestions?
Thanks for your replies!

Dude, just hang in there. I went through a shed pretty bad like sometime last fall, for like no real reason, it just happened. I didn't change anything either, it just started shedding like mad and I waited it out. It lasted for a little while and it stopped and everything is better now. Don't stress, just wait it out and everything should be okay. :)

I hope everything will be fine in the future. Thanks for your experience. Do you think whether or not I should make some change in my regime?

your regimen is fine, if you indeed did start shedding before you added the topicals to it, then it might be a finasteride induced shed in which case you'd have to ride it out. how much hair a day do you think you're shedding?

another thing, why are you using 2.5 ml of 5% minoxidil a day?...the clinical trials say a dose above 2 ml (10 squirts of the spray) did not deliver any better results, then again i dont know whether a .5 ml difference would give you sides, you never know. stay within the safe limit.

Yes....add these to your regime : Xandrox 5%, 2% spironolactone solution, folligen solution spray, emu oil. Okay here we go..............

Morning application :
Wash or wet hair and towel dry............most applications absorb better when scalp is hydrated, just make sure hair is dry, if slightly damp, should be okay.
Apply 2% spironolactone solution first. You can use the dabber it is included with, that is if you get it from Dr. Lee. Me.........I don't, I just don't like it, I take the dabber off the bottle and just apply with dropper. Let the spironolactone dry(about 15 minutes) then apply the Xandrox 5%. That should do it for the morning application.

Evening application:
Wash or just wet hair and towel dry
Apply the folligen solution spray( I use a dropper to do it, I don't use the spray head), let it dry pretty good, then apply 2% spironolactone solution( spironolactone and folligen could be switched in the order, I don't think it really matters). after that dries, apply the Xandrox 15%, and let it dry, but no matter what, the sh*t stays sticky,lol............after that dries pretty good, apply the spironolactone 5% lotion, but make sure that everything is dry before you apply the spironolactone 5% lotion.....water I believe can break it down, that is what I was told though so I am not really sure.. After that dries and soaks in................top it all off with emu oil. Yes, I know, the nighttime application will look like real hell, but I believe it is worth it. It's not like you are gonna go anywhere except bed right. Unless you are gonna get laid, make sure to apply afterwards so as not to scare her off, lol. .

The folligen is good for growth and anti-inflammatory. It may also act good for an SOD. The emu oil............great for inflammation, supposed to be good for growth too. Oh yes....and acts as a very good penetrating agent, so it'll shove everything into the skin much better. Just make sure to get the emu in its "purest" form. This site talks about it : http://www.hairloss-research.org and just go to the updates section and read about it and many other things.

You could also use fluridil in place of the spironolactone, since they act as anti-androgens. But if you do...you must remember that fluridil has an enemy : water!! You will need to apply everything that contains water on first and let it super dry the you can apply the fluridil.

I hope this helps. Ask questions if you's like.

In fact, the initial treatment(minoxidil 5% 2.5ml & finasteride 1mg & lasercomb) was given by a local clinic. I even don't know what product I use at that time. During that six months treatment, I know more about hairloss. So I started to plan for a regime showed in my signature. The order of the treatments adding to my regime is showen in previous discussion. My hair shedding about 40-50 compare to about 10 hairs in the first five months treatment while shampooing.
By the way, Which is more efficient, Xandrox15 once a day or Xandrox 5% twice a day? Should I use Xandrox 5% instead of Xandrox15?
Thanks for your suggestion!!!

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, kalika. I will add them to my regime gradually. But I have some questions in my mind.

1. Which is better to choose, Folligen or Tricomin?
2. Does it be more efficient and convenient when Proxiphen / NANO Shampoo&Conditioner add to my regime?
3. The enemy of Fluridil is water you mentioned. So does it suit me if I often sweat in my scalp?

Thanks for you replies!!!:D

FOLLIGEN!! I have not heard a damn thing good about Tricomin. Nothing! Except for the fact that it irritates the f*** out of users scalps. Even the folligen solution spray might be a bit too potent at first, if it is, try diluting some with water : 50/50 water/folligen.Then gradually move to full strenght. The lotions and creams versions are supposed to be a little weaker, but harder to apply to denser areas. If you want to use those, apply to hairline/temporal area.

Proxiphen/Nano? I am not very sure. I have never used them before. I have heard the good and the bad. Might want to do a search for it here on the forums.

As for fluridil............yes sweating may degrade it. I would only use it when you don't plan on sweating. Oh yeah and by the way, I forgot to tell you.......spironolactone 2% solution smells a little. Especially when combined with minoxidil, even worse when you start to get hot and sweaty. I am not sure if people around you could smell it, but you will. Wear some cologne, to cover up a little, just incase. I thought I should add that.

Your welcome standpt33. Anytime. :)
