Indoor sports seem to have more baldies.

Snooker and darts have quite a few eggheads.

There seems to more balding in rugby players than footballers, the rugby players do often go on for a while longer before retiring. I reckon this may be a testosterone thing with rugby players, regularly pushing weights and drinking each others piss etc.

I think the rugby thing is more to do with the higher proportion of men with strong Neanderthal ancestry. Cavemen = hairier.

How could I forget Zinedine Zidane? I think he has the biggest bald spot I have ever seen!

Yet his hairline is intact.

I know, I don't think I have ever seen anyone who has gone bald like Zidane. His bald spot is massive and yet his hairline is okay and still meets the sides at the temples. He looks like a monk!

Yup I'd like to ear mr. Norwood's expertise on this one...

Balding golf player:

Severiano Ballesteros

The majority of the people you are talking about have born in my country or play in teams of my country.... residence induced hair-loss??

Ballesteros is approaching 50 and, whilst fairly receded, he still has thick hair. He certainly doesn't have the bald look. Are there any bald golfers? I didn't have to look far to find these images of famous golfers (all at middle age or above). Time to take up golf maybe?!

It is strange that there aren't more bald golfers. I think it's just coincidence rather than anything else. There could be a genetic factor, i.e. those that aren't predisposed to go bald might make better golfers because of their genetic make up. Although, I used to play golf as a kid and reckon I could have become a pro if I had stuck at it. Maybe not Tiger Woods' standard though!

I think exposure to the elements must be a good thing. This would tie all the Mexican, American Indian, golfer theories together!

I suppose you get vitamin D from the sun. Also, perhaps more oxygen to the scalp, perhaps more tension on the hair as well from the wind, which might exercise the follicles especially if you keep your hair at medium length or longer.

Mind you, there is also the theme of regularly wearing some sort of hat :?

I think that in moderation the sun can be good for hair but I really don't think it will stop someone from going bald if they are gentically predisposed to go bald. It is quite weird that there aren't any pro golfers that are bald, you never know, a few of them might have really good wigs!

All that excercise and sex leaves them chronically overtrained with low hormone levels.

Except for the golfers, they make so much they get undetectable transplants.

Lots of bald(ing) US style football players because they are big and strong and full of hormones.
