So, What The f*** Do I Do About This?

So basically to make a long story short: I'm losing hair once again, am very close to NW3 if not already there, and I have no clue hat to do now. I've been on 1mg finasteride for about 4 years now, and I WAS using 10% minoxidil twice a day, but due to skin irritation I slowly reduced the dosage more and more.....I currently use 5% once daily. Since doing that my hair has been getting absolutely WRECKED, and i'm currently looking into restarting my 10% prescription...

I Have a prescription for dutasteride and I also have a prescription for spironolactone. What do I do? I'm scared to take them. I don't care about sexxxual side effects, I just am scared they will just accelerate my hairloss, and there seems to be endless anecdotal evidence of dutasteride absolutely RUINING people's hair. What do I do?!

Also, what happened to shishiedo? Is that turning out to be a disappointment?

How long has it been since you started reducing the Minoxidil? Minoxidil is a dose dependent drug, reducing the percentage and applications may be the reason for the unusual amount of hair loss. Remember that Finasteride & Dutasteride only reduce DHT, they will not stop or prevent hair loss from other causes.

If your intention was to ween yourself to a lower dosage of Minoxidil, this could be more detrimental than beneficial as it would most likely cause you to continuously lose ground. I would imagine it would be better to just lower it to your desired dose and ride out, and get the loss over with quickly.

Just to be sure, are you a female? You're taking dutasteride?
