Like an a--hole, I asked the barber chick today to use a 3 on top. I forgot how close a 3 clips. Now I have to see my shiny *** scalp thru my hair. So depressing....If you have a decent head of hair, and you know it's not great underneath, just let it grow and only clip the sides. god damn it....I can't go out now, I feel like sh*t.

there are many great concealers for the top of the scalp. If bet if you used toppik you woulnd see any thinning at all.

thought about it. But I have usually draw the line with concealers. I take minoxidil (3.5 yrs) and propecia (2.5 yrs) and that's all. I have only used the FDA approved meds. Nothing else except TGEL or nizoral once in a while. I don't feel absolutely totaled, but I don't even feel like going out in public, cause I feel like sh*t. I can't pretend otherwise. Like the song from Frankie J, "how do I deal." (that's rhetorical).

wow I just check Impact of Hairloss column and the post by marsbtchsx and his pics are my situation described above. He said he shaved his head, but he really didn't because it looks like a low clipper setting was used, like a 2 or 3. You can see he has a ton of hair, relatively, but where it should have been thicker on his scalp in his younger days, now it's more diffuse. Check his post out.

take it down to a #1 and it will look better. youve already come this far, f*** it. I look decent at #1 but shitty at #3.

Toppik IMO is a disaster for hair this short, I have no clue how anybody could pull this off. The proteins do as adverstised by clinging to your hair and making it look fuller but the excess falls onto your scalp and darkens it. The end result is a head full of sawdust.

I hear ya. I have to do a number 6 or higher or a number 1. Anything inbetween reveals the pattern loss.
