Any advice?
I live in the UK. Do I need a prescription to order it? should I get myself checked out first?

Any other useful info I would welcome.

Cheers in advance

So is everyone a spammer these days?

He asked where to get a finasteride prescription, didn't he? Look, the Boots hair retention programme costs £30 per month. Proscar from Dr Ashcroft works out £8 per month. You do the math.

BTW, Dr Ashcroft is just a regular British GP. Unlike most of them (including mine) he actually knows something about finasteride and is willing to prescribe Proscar.

theres a difference between spamming and helping,i think the boots hair retention program is good at least you are getting the real deal plus regular check ups , yeh £30 quid a month thats just over £7.00 pounds a month,

damn now look ive just spammed again, when on a public forum i must learn how to keep my mouth shut duh

I was refering to the 2nd and 3rd posts in this thread.

What's your problem barcafan?

Ashcroft is a UK General Practitioner, i.e. part of our non-commercial National Health Service.

I have no personal connection with him apart from getting my Proscar from him! I'm glad a poster over at a UK forum told me about Dr Ashcroft, otherwise I'd still be paying premium prices for Propecia.

Jeez, only trying to be helpful.

Would a spammer ever admit to spamming?

Look man, I don't give a monkey's toss if the guy goes to Boots, his local GP or Ashcroft. I really don't. But the fact is that there are only a few ways to get Propecia in the UK -

1. Private prescription from a GP
2. Boots Hair Retention Programme
3. Internet pharmacies

The fact is many guys are wary of buying off the Net, Boots is expensive (£30 per month last time I bought from them) and most British GPs either (a) don't know about finasteride at all, or (b) will insist on prescribing you costly genuine Propecia. Ashcroft is the only GP I know willing to prescribe Proscar, which saves me money.

If I was this guy, I'd go to Ashcroft. If he prefers his local Boots, that's fine, they're a known quantity, he'll get reliable service. If he goes to his local GP, well, it's pot luck.

At least I've actually HELPED the guy make an informed choice.

lol barcafan great comeback duh

is this a forum for helping people with hair loss???

the guy asked a question, me and another member replied to his question,i myself have just gone on the boots program, the other member gave other advice ,

can i ask what advice you have for the guy who need a bit of help???

everyone one on this forum who offers advice to another member must also be spammers??

tell you something mate your a real dumb arse

yeh ok i own boots the chemist and im spamming my propecia lol

must have a word with self never give people advice again

maybe your head shines like the bonnet of a new car, thats why your angry people mention propecia ???

sorry for being so harsh man but i just dont understand where your comming from,

so i ask you to give this person who started the thread some advice, you want to call us spammers, wheres your advice ????

he wants to know a place he can get finasteride from the internet ,will you tell him???

Yeah Proscar is just the 5mg dosage marketed for prostate enlargement. Bizarrely, it's cheaper than Propecia. You can cut it into quarters or fifths and away you go!

Dr Ashcroft's details are here - http://www.hairhelp.myzen.co.uk/?q=node/7

Yes, the guy who runs that website is the UK rep for an American hair transplant surgeon but ignore all that, just look for Dr Ashcroft's contact details. Dr Ashcroft is NOT affiliated to the hair transplant surgeon, like I said before he's just an NHS GP. You can look him up on the online GMC register if you have any concerns (it's John Stanley Ashcroft).

Just to finally PROVE to barcafan that I'm trying to be helpful and NOT spam (jeez....) here's a link to a forum where I first asked about Dr Ashcroft - at the time I wrote this, I was getting Propecia from Boots, but with a prescription from my local GP, not on the Hair Retention programme:
