Been lurking posting on these forums for 13 years now started balding at 25 but had insanely thick hair.
Even though looking back i was a norwood 1 and still had great hair,so i can understand these young guys who come on here complaining about what appears to be a great head of hair.
By 30 i had thinned out a lot and receded to norwood 2 but even though i'd thinned out by about 40% density i still had good hàir and nobody apart from me could tell i was thinning.
At 34 i now had to use toppik to keep the illusion of a full head of hair,i actually didn't need the toppik but after applying and brushing through it looked great.
At 35 i now realised i was a norwood 2.5 and the v had emerged, now enter the world off hair straightners to try and style the hair to look like a norwood 2 at first this was quite easy but this last year ive been spending houts trying to get it right but still looked crap.
Now i slick my norwood 3 straight back and it looks terrible on me,tried brushing it forward but looks like a combover and looks awful as well, now at 38 nearly 39 i hate life have no woman in my life and want a transplant probably in turkey.
Been using finasteride for 6 years, just ordererd RU58841.
I actually tried androcur for 3 months because i was desperate but the thought of growing breasts and going bald is not a look many women are looking for in a man so stopped that.

I don't think finesteride has helped to be honest, still taking it, but no miracle drug that's for sure.

I've considererd it but don't see many men wearing hair systems in manchester and don't want to feel self concious about it......would try transplants and if that didn't work then maybe a system.

hey man. not yet. definitely incoming in matter of time though
I must admit i've thought about it many times and i could make the transition because most people see me as having a full head but i'd hate people knowing i wear hair however the time may come when i say f*** it and do it.
Were are you on the norwood scale alphalete mate ?

I'm 18. Was about Nw2 but heavily diffused at 17. Got on minoxidil, got back to nw1. months later, nw1.5. been on finasteride now for a while. I'd say i'm about nw1.5 still but im very diffused lol.

Def above nw2.5 without treatments, guaranteed.

you should get a hairsystem, honestly. f*** the meds enjoy your life as a fullhead even though it might mean you'll have to adapt to a hairpiece. just my 2 cents

Post pics then members can help rule or rule out a hair transplant for you. Would you transition to dutasteride? Have you used minoxidil?

@Alphalete Just received this by email.

Dear RepliCel Subscriber,

With the recent closing of our strategic transaction, we are now turning the page on a new chapter for RepliCel Life Sciences – one which I have been planning for some time and am excited about.

My focus as RepliCel CEO for the past 21 months has been on completing projects already underway when I took over - three phase 1 trials and moving the dermal injector to early functional prototypes. My vision was to take the results from those milestones and define a renewed strategy for RepliCel - one which involved transitioning the company into a commercial enterprise and creating value for RepliCel shareholders through revenue and additional partnerships. With the YOFOTO deal closed, we can now begin executing on this strategy in earnest.

To both represent and drive a renewed vision for RepliCel, going forward we will be doing a number of things differently. Soon you will receive the information circular for our upcoming Annual General Meeting to be held December 14 in Vancouver. In it, you will see some of those changes reflected. We will keep you updated on other changes by way of this newsletter. Some are big, some are small but we are making all of them because we believe they matter.

I am working with the Board, our management team, external partners, and some of you to execute a strategy which thinks and works differently to enhance our results.

Next week I start hitting the road again to speak to investors about our story in the United States and Canada. In December I’ll be speaking with investors in China alongside YOFOTO. The message is clear. We now have a well-capitalized, very motivated partner developing and commercializing products with us in greater China, we anticipate hearing sometime soon about the clinical results from the Shiseido-sponsored hair loss study in Japan, and we are now months away from having commercial-grade units of the dermal injector in our hands. These are things which matter, create value, and will take RepliCel Life Sciences to the next level.

Watch for more news announcements shortly and I hope to see you soon either on the road or at our upcoming AGM.

Sincerely,

Lee

Be great if this could replace the hair transplant industry but i doubt it.

@random phone charger sorry but this is just nonsense. just use whatever u have now and dont try to think about ''future treatments''. finasteride is our only hope. and to OP get a hairsystem if a cure exists u can exchange it with the system

Oh, I wasn't suggesting to waiting for it, I was just showing the newsletter because I happened to be in my email when it was sent.
Its always some problem with the investors anyways.

Are you UK based? If you're genuinely considering an hair transplant (which I think sounds like an avenue you should explore based on your write-up), have you spoken to Spex?

I'm UK, NW3 with super-fine hair. I've had 3 x hair transplants to (re)build my hairline (between ages of 29 and 38), which have helped immensely. If you've got naturally thick hair, more likely to get good results. But if you're going that route, you really need to do your research. Also, please do post pics if you can so others can advise.

Also, where have you ordered RU from? I'm thinking trying that stuff. Not sure where to order it from UK.
