small round bald spot in my beard region

I just noticed I have a small M&M sized bald spot on my jawline beard region. I am certain this is new cause I have a full beard in that region and even looking at my older pics I don't see the bald spot.

Has anyone here dealt something like this? the little web searching I ve done suggests it might be alopecia areata, but I thought that happened in the scalp?! I have no bald spots on my scalpe beside the bit of recesion in my temple corners from male pattern baldness.

Can pretty much effect anywhere you have hair. I have it in my beard as well, for how long I have no idea because

1) I can't grow a decent beard
2) job

so it really doesn't effect me as much. Mine is like 2 dime sized circles joining.

Has the bald spot improved at any point?

I have read that lack of sleep might be factor, and I definitely have been getting less sleep recently. But I was also wondering if it had anything to do with me using finastride.

It's still there I don't know if it grew in size or not because I shave daily. Same as alopecia areata I believe it can come back on its own or you can use steroids or something else to see if it grows back. No idea if finasteride has anything to do with it.

I've been in finasteride for 5 months and just noticed a bald spot on my leg. Weird.
