Below are the first 2 months using Rogaine Foam and Nizoral 1%. I started Rogaine and Nizoral at the same time.

Things that have an effect on the appearance of my hair include the length of my hair, the way i combed it, time of day the photo was taken, and whether or not there was product in my hair.

Note that my shed started around week 4.

Six Months of Rogaine Foam with weekly photos continued again

Note that I got a bit lazy during the last couple weeks and missed several applications and forgot to take my weekly photos.

Here are a couple more Week 27 photos with my hair combed. Note that Week 27 is after a recent haircut and so you will be able to see my scalp more noticeably.

Also it's a different style hair cut that was a simple 1" buzz across the whole top rather than having it cut longer in some areas to conceal the thinning areas.

Conclusion. I think Rogaine and nizoral used consistently is able to somewhat stabilize and slow down your hair loss. It seems to have a greater effect on the crown area and doesn't seem to have any effect at all on the receding hairline.

I had in the past used propecia 1 mg for 8 years by itself. From the age of 18 - 26. That made my hair darker, thicker, and fuller all over. Week 1 in the thread above is 2 years after quitting finasteride. You can see that my hair had thinned diffusely across the top of my head. I assure you it was thick and full before.

I quit propecia 2.5 years ago because of the scare mongering and the want to be able to donate blood. For those who don't already know you can't donate blood while on propecia.

I am 29 now am deciding on whether or not I want to get back on finasteride (1.25 mg). Part of me thinks I already did my time on finasteride and I should just ride the hairloss train out using less extreme treatments with min and nizoral.

Also, judging by what you can tell. Do you think I would look good with a buzzed/shaved head? I think I have a good shaped head for it, and am contemplating just saying f* it, going bald, and working on my physique. That way I won't worry about my hairloss anymore, will concentrate on other more important things in my life, and will have a new identity as a bald ripped man.

The true cure for baldness is to accept it and go bald.. is it not?

Also above you can see 3 different week 27 photos with different lighting/comb styles to give you an idea on effects of the photos i've taken.

These photos were taken using the rogaine app on my smart phone. I cropped the photos to just show the applicable week.

I imagine..., in the same way the cure for obesity is more sugar, and bad teeth is a pair pliers rather than braces.
The cure for baldness is more hair, that is a permanent condition followed by discontinuation of treatment. If you think you can over come the anxiety brought about by social pressure to look a certain way, then you're attacking something other than baldness.

If you feel like you want to keep your hair, you should get back on finasteride, and keep applying minoxidil. If the ability to donate blood, organs, and your outward appearance are less of a concern than don't get back on it. Once it's gone though the fight is over, under present technology anyway.

This is an awesome log! Thanks for taking the time to take the pictures and put all this together. It definitely seems like you've regained some density on the top. If you're interested I think you should try out the liquid for at least one month. I recently made the switch after around six months myself, and the liquid is for sure proving to be more effective. Best of luck

What type of liquid do you recommend? I like to purchase my stuff on amazon.com. I usually get 3 bottles of the foam at a time and roughly costs me $15 per bottle. Do you use only the liquid now or use foam in the morning and liquid at night or vice versa? Also do you find that the liquid causes more irritation? Does the liquid stain your pillow case/clothes? Thanks for your help.

I think I will try giving finasteride another shot. There is a lot of positivity from people in these forums using it. I seemed to do ok on it for 8 years so I'm guessing it will be ok for me to start it again with no worries. I was in fear that I was getting gyno near the end but at that time i was drinking 1-2 beers a day, had gained 20 lbs, and so it was probably just fatty tissue. Either way it is gone now. Do you think it is harmful to mix finasteride and alcohol? Should one limit their alcohol intake while on finasteride? Also if there are informative studies that would ease my mind and anxieties about finasteride I would appreciate it. My main concerns are: brain fog, strength of erections, gyno, fertility, depression. All of these things started to worry me while I was on finasteride because of the scaremongering, and they all went away after quitting it. I'm guessing its that nocebo effect people talk about. Still reassuring informative studies and evidence would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'd recommend Kirklands 5% minoxidil. I got mine off Amazon as well for around $30 for a 6 month supply.

Thank you big. I will probably do a foam in morning and liquid at night routine. I'm going to do a little more research on finasteride and see if I can convince myself to get back on it. If I do go back on finasteride, I'll be sure to post my results. As I remember I was a very good responder to it the first time around, and I have lost more hair since then so it should provide good results.

You need to get on finasteride. Right now DHT is plaguing your follicles and scalp causing hairloss. Nizoral is not nearly as effective, and minoxidil only regrows hair. finasteride inhibits the DHT that's causing your hairloss, but just be sure to be mindful that there are sides. Just don't worry too much about it, understand if you get side effects, then you can just drop it. A lot of people fabricate some hair brained problem after trying finasteride because they're so damn scared of it. PLEASE DON'T BE THAT GUY

Ok, I have a game plan. I ordered up some kirkland 5% liquid minoxidil off of amazon.com. I am going to incorporate that with the foam for a couple of months. Then Will consider starting finasteride sometime in early June. I will post the weekly results of the new minoxidil regiment prior to starting finasteride. Until then I am going to be focusing a lot more on my physique. Which is way more important than hair IMO.

Started using liquid rogaine tonight. Will be using Rogaine foam in morning and liquid at night for the next two months. I will post results here if no success. If success is seen I will post in the success stories. Also if there is no success I will be giving finasteride another chance. Till then I plan on joining the body building forums and putting 100% of my forum and progress energy into that for the next 2 months. Hope to see all of you with more hair then! :punk:
