Sorry for this stupid question everyone asks but yeah. Ok so, background info, my mom's dad died fairly young, like 50 ish, but had a full head of hair, my mom's brothers are balding, about norwood 4 or 5, my dad has norwood 3 with a bald spot but he is like 60, his brothers aren't balding. Here is my hairline, I'm 19 btw. Sorry for ****-tier quality. WP_20131208_001.jpg

Just a little bit, if you get on Propecia you should be fine. Just try not to freak out. I know it's very hard to be dealing with at such a young age... I'm 20 and just realized I was going bald a few months ago and freaked out. You will come to accept the idea, however. I'm not sure where you are on the Norwood scale, maybe a 1.5 or 2. Just try not to freak out, you still have plenty of hair but it's never too early to get on Propecia. Good lucky and know that you aren't the only young man going bald. :) We just have to play with the cards life deals us.

Picture is blurry, and a picture of the top of your head would help, but my guess is that this is early MBP. That said, you should talk to a dermatologist.

Hey thanks for the replies, yeah, I think it's just slightly receding, it's been like this for about a year and hasn't got much worse other than the left temple getting a little thinner, can't even tell when I have my hair shaggy, but I like to slick it back so that kinda sucks, oh well if it gets any worse I'll check out finasteride.

I have similar situation here. (maybe I am better)
I am considering topical treatment first rather than taking finasteride or any pill.

To be honest, its very hard to say. u could go bald in the next five years, or u could slowly recede 1 cm over the next 50 yrs.

its certainly nothing to worry bout yet, but ppl that say yes or no definitively, are just guessing. it could go either way. predicting from family members can help a little, but again, u could follow ur father or brother, or u could not follow them.

personally i and my brothers all are following exactly my father. as in slow recession to about Norwood 3 by 50, but some dont follow there family members.

if u want the exact precise answer other than ppl from a forum, u have to go get a miniturization study from a dermatologist, and then they can predict wat the pattern will be, and how long it will take. thats ur best bet for a proper answer.

the above advice is golden though. dont panick. u might be fine, and make it worse by panicking. and above all, enjoy it now , and date lots of girls and have fun, because its possible u might lose it one day (although u also might not) im in my 30's now and slowly balding, and i highly regret not having more fun when i was younger. u spend year after year planning to enjoy ur life once u get this condition reversing, and for alot of us that day never comes, and u end up bitter, and having missed out on good times. ( i spent my younger years moping at home, and researching on the internet. now down the track im more bald, and have nothing to show for it.)
